The result was keep. Overwhelming Keep consensus and a failure to check WP:BEFORE (non-admin closure) AmericanAir88(talk) 14:56, 19 September 2018 (UTC)

Not notable. Receives only passing mentions and very limited coverage in literature. Declined PROD. wumbolo ^^^ 09:31, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

- Comment: I haven't finished my BEFORE yet, but I think it might be appropriate to redirect to a section of KDE, merging one or two sentences, if no substantial sources can be found. It would seem most coverage of KWin is in relation to KDE Plasma. — Alpha3031 (t • c) 14:36, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- Leaning keep. While the depth of coverage in most sources is not substantial, I feel that combining the sources that do have some content beyond a directory listing would be sufficient to meet notability guidelines. The most substantial source I've been able to find is this comparative review between Kwin and Compiz, which might have ~150 words of "significant coverage". Martin Flöser's blog is a good source of information, but as a non-independent source, it is not suitable for establishing notability. However, there are many other articles 1 2 3 4 5 6, that might have a few sentences each beyond routine coverage. I feel a combination of these sources will be enough to write a substantial article free from OR. — Alpha3031 (t • c) 03:32, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep This is actually a very popular used interface in the IT industry. It could do with some more work, but I feel this passes general guidelines of WP:GNG. Govvy (talk) 16:23, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep – clearly notable topic per WP:NSOFTWARE, as even a cursory WP:BEFORE reveals. Merging this into KDE is not ideal as this software is independently notable, and can be used apart from the KDE desktop environment. Bradv 16:26, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Bradv: WP:NSOFTWARE is actually an essay, so we have to look at WP:NPRODUCT and/or WP:GNG. wumbolo ^^^ 16:33, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep: While a merge is a fallback I recall having some of Bradv's concerns. Of equal concern is there are number of X-Window managers and the like up for AfD (with more likely to come) some with articles that do not demonstrate notability and a planned merges by consensus would be better than a slow nibble away with the loss of the better references/cites.Djm-leighpark (talk) 18:13, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
- Keep. Meets WP:GNG with sources mentioned by Alpha3031. — Newslinger talk 12:18, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
