Elijah Monte Radlovic (July 5, 1914 – August 26, 2000) was a highly decorated soldier, writer and businessman.
Personal Background[edit]Radlovic was born in the country of Montenegro, which became a part of Yugoslavia after WWI. After legal study at the University of Belgrade and Cambridge University, he embarked on a career in journalism, working for the Reuters News Agency, the London Daily Mail, and on the staff of the Balkan Herald in Yugoslavia.
Military Career[edit]In a daring and internationally reported event, Radlovic organized a group of fellow fugitives and fled Yugoslavia via an old, broken down submarine named Nebojsia (“fearless”) during the German invasion of Yugoslavia in 1941. After a treacherous journey, endangered by German bombing (at one point his family believed him dead), he arrived in Egypt, where he enlisted in the British Army. Serving with the famous “Desert Rats,” commanded by General Bernard Lee Montgomery, Radlovic participated in many battles throughout North Africa and Italy, eventually rising to the rank of major in the King’s Royal Rifle Corps. He was recognized as the first British/American officer to enter Bologna and Padua in Italy and was highly decorated by the British government and King George VI for his efforts behind enemy lines.
Literary Activities[edit]When the war ended, Radlovic resumed his career as a correspondent for Reuters in Belgrade, but after being denounced as a Western agent, he was reassigned to Rome. While on assignment with the London office of Rueters he worked with famed British writer Derek Jameson. In his autobiography, Touched by Angels Jameson writes that, "Foremost among this group was a Yugoslav war hero name Monte Radlovic, six-foot tall and good-looking with it." He said Radlovic, after the North African and Italian campaigns, "was among troops who linked up with Tito's forces on the liberation of his homeland" of Yugoslavia. Later Radlovic's anti-Tito and anti-communist positions became well known at the Rueter's office. He came to the U.S. in 1950, where he busied himself with literary activities. He started a magazine, The Diplomat, edited a European magazine and authored two books, Tito’s Republic (eventually translated into seven languages) and Etiquette and Protocol. Furthermore, he worked as Director of an anti-communist organization, the British Institute for Political Research.
Family[edit]In the late 1950's, Radlovic went back to Yugoslavia to recommence legal studies at the University of Belgrade, where, in 1959, he met another student, Milena Djukic, who became his wife. Before the birth of his first son, Radlovic was again compelled to flee Yugoslavia after Communist officials sought to jail him for his anti-communist activities. He returned to the U.S., living briefly in Washington D.C., then moving to Covina, California where he was soon joined by his wife and son. By the early 60’s, he had built a thriving real estate business, and decided to move to Claremont, California. It was there that a daughter and second son were born. Business Ventures[edit]In the years that followed, Radlovic became involved in a number of flourishing business ventures. He founded Pomona Realty, which grew to encompass 16 offices, and United Business Brokers, both located in the Inland Empire of Southern California, which offered seminars for entrepreneurs on how to develop successful businesses. Observers estimated that United Business Brokers played in a role in the creation of more than 150 businesses in the Inland Empire. For years he was the owner of the well-known restaurant Magic Towers, located on Foothill Boulevard in Pomona. In his later years, even after he became seriously ill, he worked on a project to build a World Trade Center near the Ontario International Airport, which never reached fruition.
Memberships and Organizations[edit]He was active in a number of organizations, principally as a Master Mason of the Claremont Masonic Lodge, as a member of the Almalikah Shrine and Pasadena Scottish Rite in Los Angeles, and of the Claremont University Club.
Death[edit]Radlovic died at age 86 after struggles with cancer and diabetes. He left behind his wife Milena, of Claremont, sons Michael of Diamond Bar ,CA, Marko and wife, Julie, with 3 granddaughters of Sherman Oaks, CA, daughter Sandra of Paris France, and two children from a previous marriage, Sally and Adrian. A close friend, Nicholas Polos, described Radlovic as “a warm and friendly person,” with “European manners,” and as “an elegant gentleman and scholar.” Congressman David Dreier said of him, “Monte Radlovic epitomized the American Dream. He was an immigrant who came to the United States and did extraordinarily well. I had the privilege of knowing him for 20 years, and was very, very saddened by his passing.”

Menu[edit]The Blue Benn menu is extensive and has variety. Breakfast is served all day and there are seasonal items such Gazpacho and Strawberry Shortcake. On one occasion, Sonny and Marylou's grandson Matheson, and his grandfather Sonny, made Brioche, a French sweetbread. They served it as french toast by dipping it into the batter. They then put carmelized peaches on, and the order would be complete. They made four loaves and they sold out. It was the first time for Brioche at the Blue Benn, and not the last. The recipe and idea to make it was inspired by one of Gordon Ramsay's recipes. The breakfast is the highlight of the menu, due to the fact of the variety of the items. Sonny came up with the Garden Scrambled, Farmers Omelet, and much, much, much more. The menu is often imitated and never duplicated due to the great items. Sonny and Marylou[edit]Sonny and Marylou are the proud owners of the Blue Benn Diner. They first took over the diner on December 24, 1974. They are coming up on their 35th anniversery for the diner. They both have a daughter, Lisa, who also works for the Blue Benn as a waitress. Sonny first worked at the Vermont Restaurant in Bennington at 15 years old making sandwiches and pizzas. He worked his way up the line and was the head chef before he graduated highschool. He is very talented and creative in the kitchen and has an exceptional palate. Marylou was and is a very bright person. She is the head waitress. She has always used her wits in the restaurant business to make the right decisions to make the diner as great as it is. She is a very gifted person. Marylou is very kind and generous also. Lisa is a great person and is also very kind, intelligent, and generous. She is a waitress at the diner. She and her mother would make great waitresses at any restaurant in the world because they are great people. Lisa married Bill LaFlamme who also works at the diner. They have two sons, Matheson and Marcus. Matheson has already started working at the diner since the age of 12 and is still working. He hopes to attend culinary school and hopes to meet and work with Gordon Ramsay. Marcus enjoys baseball and is pursuing a career in baseball.

Cactus Man is currnetly a small company producing outrageous products for the good of the British people. Cactus Man began with two students from Ousedale School wandering what to do with their spare time in science and so began to draw images onto the wooden surfaces of the desks. One came up with Cactus Man and so the legend began. Cactus Man can be found in nearly every department in Ousedale school and has gotten into several table-top arguments. Cactus Man is typically like a cactus, but has several defining features that make him stand out. For example, his banjo and and sombrerro hat are not usually found on a normal cactus. His sun-glasses are a necessity as the hot sun may cause him to wilt. Cactus Man can be veryfied by several thrid parties such as www.wikipedia.com

Rich Walikis (born 11 March, 1965, in Binghamton, New York) is a blues musician, guitarist and singer. Career[edit]Rich Walikis (pronounced Wall-ee-kiss) is the guitarist who performed the very popular "Traffic Jam" song (Traffic Jam Mp3), said to be recorded by Stevie Ray Vaughan and Carlos Santana in 1979. This song, a nearly seven minute guitar based instrumental Jam, was in fact recorded by Rich Walikis in 1994 and received extensive praise and exposure as reviewed by The Syracuse New Times Magazine. Rich Walikis uploaded the song to Napster in 2000 and after changing the "artist" name from himself to Stevie Ray and Carlos, the song traded quickly. The song then propogated and has been in a huge number of internet web sites, play lists, has been tabbed, and is generally considered one of the all-times Stevie Ray Vaughan songs - although neither Stevie Ray Vaughan nor Carlos Santana performed it. Any Google search on this song will find it in thousands of sites dedicated to the serious guitarist. Rich's current band, The Jam Bones, has released a 18 minute followup to "Traffic Jam" titled "Shake and Bake" Shake and Bake. Rich Walikis has played with multiple wordwide touring Blues artists and continues to record and tour with his current band The Jam Bones which is listed in the list of Jam Bands. He has appeared numerous times on Television and Radio programs dedicated to independant artists. The Jam Bones[edit]Rich's Walikis current band line-up:
