[edit]As of 2011[update] Census of India, the town had a population of 30,250. The total population constitute, 15,200 males, 15,050 females and 2,348 children, in the age group of 0–6 years. The average literacy rate stands at 80.31% with 13,294 literates, higher than the national average of 73.00%.[5]
