Valanida (Greek: Βαλανίδα, Greek pronunciation: [vala'niða]) is a village and a community of the Elassona municipality.[2] Before the 2011 local government reform, it was part of the municipality of Elassona, of which it was a municipal district.[2] The community of Valanida covers an area of 58.354 km2.[3]
History
[edit]The settlement is recorded as a village and as "Valanida" in the Ottoman Tahrir Defter number 101 dating to 1521.[4]
