References to SJP calling for the ending of Israel

[edit]
The SJP “points of unity” state that "It is committed to ending Israel’s occupation and colonization of all Arab lands", and some SJP members and chapters explicitly refer to the Israeli occupation as having started in 1948, when Israel was founded. In July 2018, Tulane’s SJP chapter wrote that “Israel’s occupation [of Palestinians land] began seventy years ago”. In May of 2018, SJP at DePaul University distributed fliers claiming that Israel has engaged in “70 years of occupation.
Also: "it is an ideological fantasy to really believe that progress is possible so long as the state of Israel exists [..] The goal of Palestinian resistance is not to establish ‘love’ with those who are responsible for the suffering of the Palestinian people; it is to completely dismantle those forces at play." https://theaggie.org/2018/07/06/students-for-justice-in-palestine-kill-and-expect-love/ Also: "We identify the establishment of the state of Israel as an ongoing project of settler-colonialism that will be stopped only through Palestinian national liberation." https://nycsjp.wordpress.com/points-of-unity/:

Table formatting problems

[edit]

This edit by you appears to have introduced a number of table formatting problems into the List of sovereign states by date of formation article. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 10:55, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ו think they were there before. But I'll look into it later. I'm not at my desktop now. Vegan416 (talk) 11:05, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

However this goes

[edit]

I really appreciate your remarks at AE. I myself abstain from ever having recourse to AE on the same principle you expressed. Whatever one's differences with another editor, they can best be resolved by argument on the talk pages. I didn't note there that I for one have often been on the receiving end of ostensibly injurious insults or perfuctionary sneering. I don't react by running to whine in those tribunals. For I think that is just a waste of time, and not proper to grownups. We will probably (if I do continue here) find ourselves at loggerheads, but you certainly meet one of the most important criteria here, you do your homework, that sine qua non which guarantees that disputes can be rationally resolved or negotiated b y editors who accept that there are rules of evidence. Off-wiki question about academic sources

[edit]

Do you happen to have access to Hebrew legal data banks/e-libraries? Might need some for a niche use off-wiki, would it be possible to check with you if there is something of interest? FortunateSons (talk) 10:42, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

not really. But please give details. I might be able to help anyway. Vegan416 (talk) 10:58, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll send you a mail :) FortunateSons (talk) 10:59, 18 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Notice that you are now subject to an arbitration enforcement topic ban

[edit]

The following topic ban now applies to you:

You are indefinitely topic banned from the Arab/Israel conflict, broadly construed

You have been sanctioned for BATTLEGROUND editing, casting aspersions, and inappropriate politicization

This topic ban is imposed in my capacity as an uninvolved administrator under the authority of the Arbitration Committee's decision at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Index/Palestine-Israel articles#Final decision and, if applicable, the contentious topics procedure. This sanction has been recorded in the log of sanctions. Please read WP:TBAN to understand what a topic ban is. If you do not comply with the topic ban, you may be blocked for an extended period to enforce the ban.

If you wish to appeal the ban, please read the appeals process. You are free to contact me on my talk page if anything of the above is unclear to you. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:05, 23 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I had already begun collecting diffs for Arbitration Enforcement when I saw this. While I'm sure the RS/N bludgeoning and the WP:POINT article Jews and Israelis as animals in Palestinian discourse in response to Animal stereotypes of Palestinians in Israeli discourse are generally known, the extended confirmed gaming should be documented with the topic ban for posterity:

  • Had only 15 edits and was inactive for 1.5 years.
  • Reawakened with this edit on 20 October, shortly after the war started, adding contentious content about the conflict to a BLP.
  • Received a CTOP alert after several months of ARBPIA editing, resulting in a series of mass minor edits, including repeated changes on articles about numbers. Stopped shortly after clearing 500 edits.

Thebiguglyalien (talk) 18:51, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • The contributions of this account are certainly interesting. From 29 March 2024, the account has been editing prolifically and almost virtually exclusively in ARBPIA, editing almost every day (perhaps 9 inactive days out of 115 days), with over 1,650 edits. Yet, once the topic ban was applied, the account has gone inactive, possibly a sign of a single-purpose account. starship.paint (RUN) 06:02, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I just wanted to add here this account has been one of several that has been primarily active in Arab/Israeli conflict articles primarily after 07OCT2023 and engaged in rapid gaming once that topic required over 500 edits. On top of this the account has predominantly been active in arbitration discussions as well as gate-keeping many articles on the conflict against other users (such as myself) who did not engage in gaming to gain the extended access (I wasn't aware the articles were within the reach). This isn't the only account that has been doing this for the last few months, in particular abusing extended user access to gatekeep said topics. Galdrack (talk) 14:18, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
