Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Sunny Deol has been reverted.
Your edit here to Sunny Deol was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/TheDeols) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sunny Deol, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. -Managerarc talk 00:05, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. Continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Sunny Deol, without resolving the problem that the template refers to may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing Wikipedia. -Managerarc talk 09:37, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article's tone is not at all encyclopaedic and there are still many unsourced statements in the article. Secondly, many of the references you have added are not considered reliable such as planetradiocity, santabanta, video247 and blogspot sources. ---Managerarc talk 14:45, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I see that you are currently engaged in a content dispute on this page. Please discuss the issue on the article's talk page until a firm consensus is reached, or else take the issue to mediation. I have locked the page from further editing for one week in order to enable this process and ensure a civil discussion with which to agree on the article's content rather than reverts. PanydThe muffin is not subtle 17:37, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey,
The reason I deleted your content was because to me it seemed like it wasn’t actually from the reference you claimed it to be from rather you were just naming a random book for the purposes of adding a reference; I will do some research into those two books and if I can find that content within it I will update it with the page number, also I think that the two paragraphs seem out of place and don’t add much value to the article. Nevertheless if you can provide the page numbers of where that content came from, proving that it did come from those books, I won’t rollback.
I also feel that the picture of Alexander Gardner is important and Hari Singhs picture can be placed at a different section where as Alexander Gardner picture cant. His picture also fits with the other pictures in terms of style of paintings so its good to have it there.
Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion, good day. Jujhar.pannu (talk) 06:29, 8 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Not vandalism

[edit]

Please be careful with reverting edits. This edit is clearly not vandalism, as you suggest in your edit summary, but a good faith edit, made without reliable sources. New editors will not come to understand how WP works, without clear rationales given for the edits we make to their work. Taking time to explain will always help. Thank you. Span (talk) 20:21, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Abhey Deol

[edit]

Hi, I understand what you say recently that we should not bite newcomers, but on the other hand he added, Deol is the third son of the famous actor Dharmendra from his first wife is a vandalism. Actually Abhay Deol is nephew of Dharmendra. He added and changed this information on both articles. [2] Thanks Theman244 (talk) 20:47, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your message. To me this looks like it may have been a good faith edit. It's always good to explain in the edit summary exactly why you make changes. And also good to assume the good faith of editors - this is a plank on which WP rests. Best wishes Span (talk) 21:52, 22 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Notice of Dispute resolution discussion

[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard regarding a content dispute in which you may have been involved. Content disputes can hold up article development, therefore we are requesting your participation to help find a resolution. The thread is "Battle of Jamrud".

Guide for participants

If you wish to open a DR/N filing, click the "Request dispute resolution" button below this guide or go to Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/request for an easy to follow, step by step request form.

What this noticeboard is:
  • It is an early step to resolve content disputes after talk page discussions have stalled. If it's something we can't help you with, or is too complex to resolve here, our volunteers will point you in the right direction.
What this noticeboard is not:
  • It is not a place to deal with the behavior of other editors. We deal with disputes about article content, not disputes about user conduct.
  • It is not a place to discuss disputes that are already under discussion at other dispute resolution forums.
  • It is not a substitute for the talk pages: the dispute must have been discussed extensively on a talk page (not just through edit summaries) before resorting to DRN.
  • It is not a court with judges or arbitrators that issue binding decisions: we focus on resolving disputes through consensus, compromise, and explanation of policy.
Things to remember:
  • Discussions should be civil, calm, concise, neutral, and objective. Comment only about the article's content, not the other editors. Participants who go off-topic or become uncivil may be asked to leave the discussion.
  • Let the other editors know about the discussion by posting {{subst:drn-notice}} on their user talk page.
  • Sign and date your posts with four tildes "~~~~".
  • If you ever need any help, ask one of our volunteers, who will help you as best as they can. You may also wish to read through the FAQ page located here and on the DR/N talkpage.

Please take a moment to review the simple guide and join the discussion. Thank you! EarwigBot operator / talk 23:08, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dispute Resolution

[edit]

Please see here. Thanks. --Kansas Bear (talk) 23:12, 12 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello;

I have decided to oversee the resolution of the aforementioned dispute on the Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. I am a volunteer at the DRN, and I have reopened the case. However, as I note in my comment thereon, I can do very little without any opening statements by the parties. Should you wish that the dispute be marked as closed, please inform me as soon as possible. Please be aware that in order to close the dispute, I require consensus on this matter from all parties.

I hope this helps you.

--The Historian (talk) 19:48, 15 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This discussion is currently open and consensus is forming.--Amadscientist (talk) 18:32, 21 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Now closed. Editors have decided to use WP:RS/N.--Amadscientist (talk) 05:21, 22 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Theman244,

It appears the same IP user (182) keeps reverting the battle of jamrud page. I thought the admin in charge had protected it and blocked the IP, so not sure how he was able to revert. What should we do? Devanampriya (talk) 21:44, 31 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, sounds good. Also, thanks for the additional sources--definitely helps! Devanampriya (talk) 06:34, 8 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I readded the link, though the Hari page is not a fully complete article it does give some insight to the word as opposed to searching Har Har on google which would confuse readers. Note that I did edit the Hari page a bit and maybe you could add your insight to that page, perhaps a intro sentencing saying it can mean many things, I hope you understand. Thanks. Regarding info on Guru Granth sahib from rehitnaama bhai nand lal

[edit]

sat sri akaal ji ,

may i ask why are you undoing my addition regarding SGGS from rehitnaama bhai nand lal ?

Hi fellow editor, I noticed you removed unreliable refernces from article Diet in Sikhism. Thanks for that. I am also having issues with WP:Reliable at Damdami Taksal. Posible WP:Censor as well. Could you keep an eye on that as well? Thanks SH 11:53, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Small request for help

[edit]

Hi Theman. You seem to be doing a good job and I do admire your edits on the Ranjit Singh page but now I need your help. I have been editing the Diet in Sikhism page and my edits have been seen to be disruptive by some including yourself. Nearly all of those edits revolve around the following line. This line seems a bit funny, original research, NPOV, that sort of thing, but not only that the references it uses doesn't match up with what it is implying.

The line which references the following link:

[edit]

but Sikhs are not bound to be meat-free.[1] The general consensus is that Sikhs are free to choose whether to adopt a meat diet or not.[1]

  1. ^ a b "Only Meat Killed by Ritual Is Banned for a Sikh". Sgpc.net. Retrieved 2009-08-09.

The main problem here is that none of the two things mentioned by the line above appear on that article. There is nothing meat related on that referenced Spgc.net page except a brief mention of transgressions (tabooed practices) must be avoided where it says “Eating the meat of an animal slaughtered the Muslim way;” There is nothing else. There is no mention of a general consensus or anything else implied by that line. Could you please add references or fix this however you find rightful?

All the best! Jujhar.pannu (talk) 12:08, 26 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

[edit]

Thanks for helping out at Diet in Sikhism. As you know I am keen to get the Sikh related articles up to a high academic standard, as generally they are quite poor and based on poor references, misquotes and people add to them who lack WP:COMPETENCE. Input into other Sikh related articles is much appreciated as well. Thanks SH 08:55, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 23:48, 22 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
