USAFA

[edit]

I just wanted to let you know that I have nominated the USAFA article to be a Good Article, you have obviously had an important role in the editing of the article, hopefully it passes, if it doesn't then I might just help out to get it up to GA status, mostly because I am thinking about nominating all of the Service Academies to be a Featured Topic.--Joebengo 03:02, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Those guys over at Army and Navy might need some help, though. - Tarfu92 14:20, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like it passed GA, good work.--Joebengo 00:51, 21 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for Image:AFA grad.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:AFA grad.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talkpage. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 21:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've worked those listed already. Also see comments on the talk page. I have to spend some more days on my List of United States Naval Academy alumni list and its sublists now. I'll come back here when I'm done. If you want, look at the USNA lists and see what can be done with the USAFA list. USAFA has no list of notables on their site, I asked. You could peruse Category: United States Air Force Academy alumni for ideas of whom to add. RlevseTalk 23:22, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for helping, but we need to keep formatting consistent] throughout the academy lists if we want to get them to featured status, so can we stick with "Joe Blow ....; famous for yak yak (1992-1997)? (full years on both sides of -, in parens, no comma after yak yak). RlevseTalk 14:16, 14 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've done some more work on this. I also looked at Category:United States Air Force Academy graduates (which you may want to if you haven't already) and added some people. Are there more significant people you think should be added to the list?RlevseTalk 21:03, 21 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've added the ones I know, I figured you'd be better able to answer that. I did look at several in the category, but not all. Ping my talk page when you think it's ready for FL candidate. RlevseTalk 22:19, 24 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Can you think of someone to add to Academics to push the list below Levy's picture? I really want to keep her picture. RlevseTalk 10:15, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the hiatus--been otherwise occupied. Off the top of my head, as far as Academics goes, I know there have been about a dozen or so Rhodes Scholars, but I don't know where there's a list. I'll see if I can find something. There are also three grads who came back as Dean of Faculty at the Academy: Ruben A. Cubero '61; David A. Wagie '72; and Dana H. Born '83). One other notable (for "Vietnam") might be Michael Blassie, '70, who was interred in the Tomb of the Unknown until positively ID'ed a few years back. Also a Silver Star recipient. I'll post some more as I think of them. - Tarfu92 (talk) 18:16, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There are 38 Rhodes from AFA, but I have found no list of their names. We can work on the ones you know though. RlevseTalk 20:33, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's more than I thought, (and it shows you how much I pay attention to what's actually on the page!) but still, the ones I know for sure are pretty much the ones that are already up there. - Tarfu92 (talk) 22:49, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I've added Cubero, Born, and Blassie (didn't know he was alum). I also have not listed it at FLC. Feel free to add more and to help at FLC. RlevseTalk 00:16, 2 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Tarfu92! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 2 of the articles that you created are tagged as Unreferenced Biographies of Living Persons. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 5 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

  1. Reggie Minton - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
  2. John R. Dallager - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

File source problem with File:AFA 80s Lady.jpg

[edit]

I have conducted a reassessment of the above article as part of the GA Sweeps process. You are being notified as you have made a number of contributions to the article. Unfortunately the poor state of referencing of the article meant that I immediately de-listed it as it fails to meet the GA criteria at present. When these concerns, which you can see at Talk:United States Air Force Academy/GA1, have been addressed you may renominate the article at WP:GAN. If you disagree with this re-assessemnt please take it ito WP:GAR for community re-assessment. Thanks. Jezhotwells (talk) 08:01, 21 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
