I would like to say that not only is this article accurate, but he is a personal friend of mine. The page was by no means complete, and while I am "new", I find it a bit aggravating that you deleted the page without so much as a note. A note would have been nice. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hanzov69 (talk • contribs)

Bonde do Role
[edit]While I applaud your speedy efforts to keep wiki clean of pointless pages, I am rather new to creating articles and I assure you was in the process of rendering the Bonde do Role article a relevant piece of work. Would like you to hear this perspectuve from me before my inevitable suspension. Sorry for bothering you. EW Talk.
The Main Event radio pages
[edit]Back in May, several pages I made on the Main Event radio show were deleted. It took me many hours to do, and I was wondering if it would be possible to re-obtain the data. This includes The Main Event (radio show), Ilan "The Viz" Preisler, BJG, and Gavin "the loose Cannon" Schwartz. Thank you.
You only blocked Druj06 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) for 31 hours, seeing as all of their edits are vandalism I can't see why you can't block them indefinitely. Most vandal accounts that I see that only have vandalism get blocked indefinitely first time after their last warning.--Andeh 00:01, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- Really? Seems a bit harsh. Though if they persist, they may be blocked indefinitely. Roy A.A. 01:12, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi Royboycrashfan, sorry but your reasoning for deleting/keeping was not on the talk page (yet). I believe there was reason to bring the recreation of the article up, even if you decide to keep the article. Regards, gidonb 01:53, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- I chose to keep it per Marina T.'s argument. Roy A.A. 01:54, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
- I would appreciate if you can explain that on the talk page, as these articles are very contested. Personally I do not take sides, I just make sure that the warring sides follow the rules. Regards, gidonb 01:57, 1 July 2006 (UTC)
The Great War (documentary) speedly deletion

AOL vandals
[edit]why can't they get a full ban? i understand that supposedly there are multiple users sharing the IP but if one user is engaging in abusive behavior doesn't the end justify the means? Drmagic 16:56, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Article deletion
[edit]I noticed you deleted 50 bands to see before you die (and several other versions have been deleted by many admins since it was a reprint of a list in Q magazine. Shouldn't using this logic, FHM-U.S.'s 100 Sexiest Women 2000 be deleted as it is just a list from the magazine FHM? (along with all the other years?) Dark jedi requiem 04:18, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Not exactly. 50 bands to see before you die was deleted because that was what the consensus was on that article. There's nothing wrong with the FHM list as far as I can tell. Though if you disagree with the deletion, you can discuss at WP:DRV. Roy A.A. 19:57, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- I do not think that 50 bands to see before you die should be recreated. I was just wondering as at the AFD page for it, it said that since it was just a "pure directory of information with no context" that it should not be kept. It seems likely to me that since both are lists from magazines with no context that it should be deleted from Wikipedia as well.Dark jedi requiem 23:04, 5 July 2006 (UTC)
- Looking at the history, FHM-U.S.'s 100 Sexiest Women 2000 also went through AFD and the consensus was to keep as it was "a notable list". The Q magazine article asserts notability of this particular list, so in that sense, it should be included here too. Roy A.A. 01:18, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Recent image deletions
[edit]Hi, I refer to your recent deletion of Image:Asteroid proper elements i vs a.png and Image:Asteroid proper elements i vs e.png.
Apparently, User:Leaden´skij recently uploaded a copy of these to Commons, and marked the originals for speedy deletion.
However, this has made a real dog's dinner of the diagrams and their description, depite its good intentions:
- There is a detailed image summary, but of course now all the wiki links to the english wikipedia are broken. This was the point of having it in :en in the first place.
- The commons image is much lower resolution, which harms the detail in the figures, which is relevant to the referring article Asteroid family.
- Copyright tags are duplicated all over the place in the commons image.
I'm afraid i'm not skilled enough in wikipedia to change this back to normal (or perhaps you have to be an admin to do it). Could you please revert the damage, or at least point me to some link where it is explained how I can do it. Deuar 18:29, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well, don't worry I guess, I've fixed it the manual way. Deuar 19:29, 6 July 2006 (UTC)
Jill Johnson
[edit]The Talk:Jill Johnson shall not redirect to Talk:Jill Johnson (When a Stranger Calls). The Jill Johnson article is now about a Swedish country and - schlager singer, and the fictional character is moved to "Jill Johnson (When a Stranger Calls)".
- Since it's a talk page, blanking the page would be better than deleting it. Roy A.A. 00:43, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
While that article had some pretty atrocious vanity, and may not be notable, having two singles at #3 and #5 nationally definitely sounds like a claim to notability to me. I really think it should be AFDed, not speedied. ~~ N (t/c) 01:47, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- Maybe he doesn't meet the speedy criteria, but he seems non-notable based on context. And some are suggesting it's a hoax. Roy A.A. 18:18, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks from Northenglish!
[edit]{{user Runglish}}
[edit]Oops, I unwittingly recreated what you deleted [1] only with different capitalization, which is why I didn't see deleted revisions. Anyway - was there some sort of a consensus for this - or did you act unilaterally? I agree that Runglish, Singlish, Spanglish, etc. are not proper languages, but Runglish does exist, and the box is whimsical and does no harm. Let me know. - CrazyRougeian talk/email 17:08, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
- User:Fox Mccloud suggested deletion saying "'Runglish' isn't really a language, and it is just English with a Russian accent. It makes no sense having these userboxes." If you disagree with this, you can discuss it with him. Roy A.A. 18:18, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
RE: PLEASE UNDELETE: Rory Demitrioss
As Rory Demitrioss is notable within the Canadian context as a political strategic thinker, advisor, and public speaker, I believe you may be in error. The wikipedia rules regarding notability have been reviewed, and we would like to ask for reinstatement please, as we are making the claim of Rory Demitrioss's notability. You are welcome to call our firm at 416-534-7115 to verify this. Thank You.
- It has been restored and nominated for AFD by someone else. Feel free to participate in the discussion. Roy A.A. 23:23, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi Roy. I need your assistance. This is a message that I have circulated around to other admins as this article has been singled out of a number of other similar Canadian political advisors:
Why would you deny people from Canada to have access to researching this individual. He appears on the government of Ontario and Government of Canada registry for active lobbyists. I think this needs to be opened up to a wider discussion. How can that take place. Also, it should be encouraged to review already public information on google and on the government of Ontario Integrity Commission website at: http://lobbyist.oico.on.ca/Integrity/RegistrationGeneral.nsf/PublicFramesWeb?OpenPage
Also, a number of collegues also have entries in Wikipedia including: Leslie Noble, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leslie_Noble Deborah Hutton: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deb_Hutton Gerry Caplan: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Caplan Ian Brodie: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ian_Brodie Rod Love: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rod_Love
Why is this individual singled out? Perhaps he is not in the right category on wikipedia?
Thank you for your help and insight. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.221.86.253 (talk • contribs)
Rory Demitrioss's article was deleted as he is not as notable. Here's something to consider:
- "Leslie Noble" gets 2,130 hits. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="Leslie Noble"
- "Deborah Hutton" gets 19,000. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="Deborah Hutton"
- "Gerry Caplan" gets 792. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="Gerry Caplan"
- "Ian Brodie" gets 52,000. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="Ian Brodie"
- "Rod Love" gets 11,700. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q="Rod Love"
- "Rory Demitrioss", however, only gets 35 (13 unique) hits. http://www.google.com/search?q="Rory Demitrioss"&hl=en&lr=&start=10&sa=N

Accidental deletion of new material using G4
[edit]Hi there. I noticed you recently deleted High Zero. The article was not a repost, and G4 explicitly requires you to verify that the article is substantially identical to the original; this article, written by a friend of mine, is completely different from the original, which he did not write. Please be more careful in the future. Thanks. Deco 02:40, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oops. Sorry about the mistake. '^_^ Roy A.A. 03:52, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
Next time you delete something, please give the editor a reasonable explanation, as he might have worked very hard on it. I will not rest until the person I wrote about gets the recognition she deserves, unless I am persuaded by logical argument otherwise. You appear well established as an administrator, but I hope you have not become to believe you are beyond accountability or the need to justify your actions as us mere editors have to. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Headshaker (talk • contribs)
- First, it failed an AFD, then you reposted the same content, which is a WP:CSD#G4. Roy A.A. 17:26, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
You deleted this article under CSD:A7 recently, and I wanted to bring something to your attention. The article states that he was a member of the band Status Quo, which, in my opinion, is an assertion of notability (and may perhaps bring him to meet WP:BIO on its own). To avoid clogging up WP:DRV, I am asking you to restore this page. If you still feel you deleted it properly, or I don't hear back from you within a couple of days, I will list it there. Stifle (talk) 09:38, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- I just wasn't sure he really needed his own page since there's so little information about him, though deleting it may have not been the best thing to do. Roy A.A. 17:20, 14 July 2006 (UTC)
- The fact that, in your judgement, there shouldn't be an article on the subject is emphatically not the same as there being "no assertion of notability." Stifle is absolutely right above; please be more careful in the future. Since I think it's pretty clear that it doesn't meet CSD A7, to avoid clogging up DRV, I have simply restored the article. -- SCZenz 19:57, 14 July 2006 (UTC)

Hey
I just want to know the reason behind deleting the arcticle for the signed band called Blackbud, so why was it deleted?
Because I checked the reasons for a speedy deletion, and nothing really jumped out for a reason, apart from the 7th in Articles, but they have got a significance because they are an active band who releases they first album on the Independiente label the end of this month.
Dave S
- Sure, but there's no actual assertion of notability. Roy A.A. 18:56, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
- If you don't believe me when saying they have an album out, check this page from play.com http://www.play.com/Music/CD/4-/1009171/-/Product.html?searchstring=blackbud, and try searching iTunes, you got both there EP's on there, so Blackbud ain't just any fake band who are just playing concerts with no chances of getting a record deal. So when is a band notability enough to get their own page?
- I'll tell you what, I'll nominate it for AFD and see what people think. Okay? Roy A.A. 21:31, 16 July 2006 (UTC)

Request for action against vandalism
[edit]I recently put up a request to take action against 198.53.202.126. You denied it on the basis that the user seems to have stopped. However, the user in question has been putting spam on the Christian Forums article for months, and he has more recently begun using its talk page as a soapbox to make personal attacks against the website and its administrators. He has done this to other articles as well, though not nearly as often. Most of the edits to that article over the past few months have either been his edits of this type or the reverts made by me or other editors to correct them. This was tolerated for a long time, but when he started editing other people's comments and filling the article's talk page with copies of articles from his personal website, some other editors and I began to take action. He has already been blocked once for his actions, and I have warned him twice since his first block was over. His last edit of this nature was about 8 hours before I put up my request, which is well within the 24-hour period that is needed to request action (he made the edits late last night, I and reverted them when I saw them this morning). I guess I am curious about what else needs to be in place before action can be taken against him. --Cswrye 15:54, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
- He's not editing right now, but if he continues this behavior, he will be blocked for sure. Roy A.A. 18:13, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
I tagged this page for deletion because it is an execution of process, at Wikipedia:Copyright problems/Advice for admins. It has been tagged as a copyright violation for over 7 days and there has been no claim of permission or ownership in the article's Talk page or on WP:Copyright problems. It is indeed a copy of the text at the given URL, there is no other text in the page history, and the license of the page from which it is copied is not compatible with the GFDL, because it prohibits noncommercial use. Please delete this page per WP:Copyright problems. —Centrx→talk • 19:09, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- WP:CSD#A8 requires for the content to be identified as a copyvio within 48 hours, which it wasn't. Roy A.A. 21:05, 20 July 2006 (UTC)
- Under the WP:Copyright problems process, it may now be deleted by any administrator and so qualifies as housekeeping. (The criteria under A8 are all for ensuring that a page is not hastily deleted when there is possibility that it is not an infringement or that the page history may be redeemed. The 7-day period and process at WP:CP is for ensuring this is not the case. In particular, the speedy deletion criterion requires that it be tagged within 48 hours so that the page on Wikipedia is not mis-identified as a copyright violation being found on a mirror of Wikipedia, when in fact the mirror copied it from Wikipedia.) —Centrx→talk • 21:32, 20 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks
[edit]Thanks for the proper sorting of my new stub on CEH III. He was slightly prominent in his own right (largely for a bank building at the corner of Fifth and Forty-third in NYC) but especially as the brother, son, and grandson of men of men of considerable prominence; he deserves probably a little more, but I don't have enough facts for anything beyond a stub and would be very happy if you or someone else does. Thank you for being so rude!
[edit]I have just had an article removed by yourself, about my husband (Yes im a Woman, and my name is George, short for Georgina, everybody always asssumes im a guy!),now while he maybe unremarkable to you, his personal qualities are an example of an exceptional human. Agreed the article has a personal slant but the definition "unremarkable" is purely your personal opinion and does not reflect the truth, i am so angry that you did not give me even a quick email, surely as an administrator you dont think so highly of yourself as to not even think that you need to give a reason, or at least contact me by email. Since when have personal qualities come second to various academia, and who can i contact at Wikipedia to contest this as i really do not think that a mere administrator can get away with such blatent rudeness. PS. I am angry but please understand why, im not just venting, i feel hurt by the rule that says he is Unremarkable, i mean im sure you dont think your wife is unremarkable, im sure you think she is totally amazing, how would you feel if somebody just said "Shes not important! which is basically the sentiment i get.
Georgina Mexico City.
- Does he have some actual claim to notability? If not, he doesn't deserve an article on here. Just because you see him that way doesn't mean everybody else does. Roy A.A. 18:28, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
- Give her the business, Royboy. When you're done, maybe you can have a similar chat with your fellow admin William Connolley. --NEMT 19:14, 24 July 2006 (UTC)
SayWhat...
[edit]As you were previously involved I wanted to bring this to your attention. The user User talk:SayWhatYouMeanAndMeanWhatYouSay copy and pasted the werdnabot code from my page to his in an obvious attempt to try and remove the recent warnings and block message from his page. Its rather obvious from the page names and the fact that he put in archive box for non-existent archives. Referencing this Wikipedia_talk:Resolving_disputes#Salman its obviously inappropriate to remove the warnings as such. I'd also say that this [2] combined with this [3] is an obvious attempt to taunt me and a violation of WP:CIVIL. I'm not going to leave anymore messages on his talk page for now to point out the archiving to him as I could only see that escalating the situation.--Crossmr 05:54, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, I like the archiving utility that you yourself use and am attempting to use it because it is cool. That's my only purpose in it. You say I'm putting it in nonexistant archive folders. That's probably because I am setting it up wrong, and would appreciate any technical support you would like to offer me. I don't like that you seem to suspect everything that I do is a bad faith action. My contribution to ACoolKat's page complimented you in your dilligence as a wikipedia editor, and warned the user that it's best to accept what you say and not argue, per my experience. I don't really appreciate your accusation, I am trying my best to ignore you as you can plainly see on my userpage. Please cease and desist your continued interest in me, Crossmr. --SayWhatYouMeanAndMeanWhatYouSay 07:01, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- After saying I can goto hell, you'll forgive me if I don't assume your comment left on CKs page wasn't dripping with sarcasm, combined with your cold reply on your talk page, it certainly didn't come across as a compliment. I would also say it was your interest in my comment there that prompted I check your talk page as you felt the need to reply to a comment I made. Upon doing so I noted the archive set up in a manner to remove content you already tried to remove once. 7 days is a usual standard (that I've observed and discussed on the help desk) used for user pages that archive regularly. It gives enough time for any open discussions to be considered closed and a week is a reasonable time for warnings to stay on a talk page. It might be nice if you didn't give conflicting messages would appreciate any technical support you would like to offer me and Please cease and desist your continued interest in me leave a person confused. The code is placed properly on your page, just target it for Archive 1 and remove the links to Archive 2 and 3. Once the Acrhive page hits 32 KB then switch to the next archive as thats the size it starts complaining that any given page might be "too long".--Crossmr 07:43, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
- We've come to an amicable solution here I think, so no need to worry about it.--Crossmr 08:08, 25 July 2006 (UTC)
Eluchil404's RfA
[edit]Thank you for taking the time to express an opinion in my recent request for adminship. I have withdrawn my self-nomination because there seemed little prospect for further productive discussion or the formation of a consensus to promote. Many commentators offered constructive critisism that I will use to improve myself as a user. Others suggested that the nomination was premature and that a re-nom in a few months would be more likely to gain consensus. One of the concerns you raised was per Tony. If you have the time, I would appreciate specific feedback on what actions I can take to remedy the problems identified by Tony Sidaway. If not, no problem; I still appreciate the feedback. Block of 219.91.203.71
[edit]I don't want to start a wheel war, but I'm curious as to why you jumped in and blocked 219.91.203.71. First, while 219.91.203.71 was a bit sarcastic, the person that started being uncivil was Vesther. Vesther has an ownership issue on many of The Apprentice articles and doesn't like his opinions challenged. I had to stop one major edit war on the Apprentice 4 article, and Vesther is trying to reopen what led to the edit war.
I also don't think it was fair to block the user so soon after his conversation with Crossmr. I believe, especially as someone new to wikipedia, he should have been given the opportunity to discuss the situation vs. being blocked less than 10 minutes later. Sue Anne 02:44, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Just an update Roy. He left his long rambling message on her talk page yesterday which includes quite a few disparaging remarks about yourself and myself among others (if you care to sift through it) [4].--Crossmr 05:04, 29 July 2006 (UTC)
I DEMAND IMMEDIATE UNBLOCKING AND AN APOLOGY
[edit]Did you even understand the issue?
Me and Crossmr were having a nice conversation about the civility message that he left me. He even replied nicely to my message I left for his message. And where did u tresspass in from with your block?
How dare you block me?
I DEMAND IMMEDIATE UNBLOCKING.
It is Admins like you should be IMMEDIATELY banned from wiki for abusing their powers.
What reason have you for blocking me?
You wont even be able to explain.
Start with the conversation I was having with crossmr.
Go on, let me see you explain...
Again, I demand immediate unblocking and an apology from you or else action WILL be taken against you for abusing your admin powers and hopefully you will be stripped of ur adminship and hopefully be banned from wiki. I understand admins like you are creating a lot of problems for wiki and they are going to take strict action against you.
And you need to be quick, because the more time you take, the MORE BADLY IT WILL REFLECT ON YOUR OWN INTENTIONS AND MOTIVES.
You do not have any excuse now. The point has been made very clear.
I will be posting in all the necessary areas to complain against you if you dont immediately unblock me and apologize and action WILL BE TAKEN AGAINST YOU.
Bye.

[edit]Hi there. May I ask why the picture I uploaded twice yesterday was deleted twice. From what I know of the rules on images there was nothing wrong with uploading it. The absence of any warnings was slightly disturbing as well, really. Cheers, -Harlsbottom 11:10, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
Why did you delete the Harry Walther article?
[edit]I'm very worried about this deletion. Walther is one of the only voices preaching the truth about Jesus's message.
Walther has appeared on U.S. cable television to discuss his views on Santa Claus, and is linked to in several articles on Wikipedia (particular the ones about Maitreya). By deleting the article, the links now go nowhere. It was also recently listed by a respected user as a "good article" in need of categorization.
Why did you delete it, especially without going through the proper procedures?
Your edit to Image:-----.jpg
[edit]I was patrolling uncategorized images and I noticed this edit [6] you made to Image:-----.jpg. In it, you appear to have blanked the {{db-noncom}} template produced when the uploader specified a non-commercial license with the edit summary "Really?". Is this what you intended to do? I have added the {{nsdnld}} template as the image contains neither source nor license information. If you are aware of a free license for this image and had intended to specify it, please consider replacing my tags with a free license and source information. Thank you. Poor targeting causes freindly fire casulties yet again
[edit]"Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Royboycrashfan for the following reason (see our blocking policy): stuffing the ballot box in AFD discussions Your IP address is 130.216.191.84."
IP 130.216.191.84 = The University of Auckland, accessible by 30,000 students and several thousand staff) has been blocked by USER:Royboycrashfan, who does not have an email to contact. Not for the first time a heavy handed and ineffectual administrator attack on IP addresses is misdirected. As a response to vandalism and abuse blocking IP addresses used by thousands of people seems from my perspective to create far more trouble than the problem and in the case of vandalism, causing administrators to block others is almost certainly one of the aims of the vandal - in my gloomy outlook, this sort of blocking is really another form of vandalism, just practised by administrators. Please remove the block and if possible 1. ensure blockers are contactable by email and 2. if at all possible put some note against the IP address for administrators to engage brain before blocking. For all future problems with this IP address could I strongly suggest the appropriate response is to block anonymous users only.
Note this has been restored. Thank you. However please check the IP address before blocking in future. Winstonwolfe 09:22, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

Protecting user talk pages
[edit]In addition to your ban being inappropriate (the removed content was vandalism that was intended to make fun of Paul Reubens being gay... not to mention another admin had already handled it) you protected a user talk page when the user was banned which defeats the purpose of allowing banned users to edit their talk pages and should be undone immediately. This IP (but not that one) should be blocked in the meantime as it is a Tor account. 63.211.169.142 19:41, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- You don't understand. A user shouldn't be allowed to edit their user talk page if they're vandalising it because it may just defeat the purpose of the block. Roy A.A. 19:44, 28 July 2006 (UTC)

The music speaks for itself, they are a UK band who are originally influenced by Coldcut and are friends with The Pineapple Thief who i may add live up the road! And I am sorry for my nazi comment....it was uncalled for

Regarding E-Ring speedies
[edit]I have seen you around the Wiki quite a bit, and you do good work. I just had a quick question about two articles where our paths crossed. I am unsure of your reasoning on the removal of speedy deletion tags for Template:E-Ring Character and Category:E-Ring. These two pages concern a cancelled television series which did not even complete one full season. They were created by Munnp001 (talk • contribs), who has since admitted to copying the entirety of the text that accompanied these pages directly from NBC.com. As I have seen every episode of this show, I do not feel that either the template or the category are useful, because the characters were not developed in depth enough to merit their own articles. Please let me know what articles you believe could use the template or populate the category. Thanks in advance. — Scm83x hook 'em 03:36, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Again, Roy, I'm still unsure of your reasoning on these pages. I would appreciate a speedy response concerning your reasoning on keeping these articles. Thanks again in advance. — Scm83x hook 'em 08:07, 2 August 2006 (UTC)
- I'm going to take your non-response as agreeing with my assertion and retag the articles for speedy deletion. Thanks. — Scm83x hook 'em 06:20, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for deleting this useless stub, but it is not completely purged from the system. When one enters the name in the search engine it pops up in blue, not red, although it is quite empty. Can you fix that glitch?
