Good work

You've been doing some great work on the cleanup, it's good to have others who are doing this too... we had a lengthy discussion about it on WP:PW awhile back. I saw an edit of yours was reverted by two different users on Kaitlyn (wrestler) though. I believe those two users were the same person, and I used those reverts as an example when I opened a sockpuppet investigation against them. The investigation is here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Hemmeband17. Just wanted to leave that here in case you have additional comments since you were one of the many users effected by these three accounts that have been reverting pretty much any change made to that article. Keep up the good work. LM2000 (talk) 23:24, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

WWE Champions

Per previous discussions, we do not go by what is recognized, we note this. See List of TNA World Heavyweight Champions. The facts are that Buckland won the title a third time and that is the official history of the title and the list should be amended as such. What WWE recognizes is not what happened and should only be noted because they do. WWE's view on the history is viewing the title as in universe which we are not supposed to do.--WillC 03:49, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Alright. I've been going with what the other lists reflect (see List of WWE United States Champions, List of WWE Women's Champions, etc). They do note which reigns are not recognized, and specifies the reigns as they are officially, and what they are unofficially; same with the days held per those reigns. However, "List of combined reigns" doesn't take into account any of the unrecognized reigns.
Perhaps they should be changed, they've just been that way for a long time. Prefall (talk) 04:21, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
Those lists are out of date. They were updated to reflect the change and were changed back too many times that I and others stopped caring. WWE lists are screwed with too many times. The only ones I could get updated were the TNA lists and the WWE Hardcore list. All of the WWE lists need to be updated but all of the old FLC expanders have retired. I am the only one left and I'd rather work on other things. I'm waiting until they go to be reviewed as featured lists before I do anything. I may just let them be demoted as FLs before I do anything.--WillC 10:13, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

Bayley OWW

Hi Prefall, saw your edit on Bayley adding OWW as a source. Personally, I don't trust OWW any more. They used to be reliable in the past, but it seems that they have been getting a lot of "user-generated" information lately, for example, they've added information directly sourced from Wikipedia, even with the [1][2] tags, which means we source ourselves in a circle. Yeah, so treat OWW with caution. starship.paint (talk | ctrb) 03:06, 19 March 2014 (UTC)

Mr and Mrs HHH

I understand where you're coming from, but the difference is that Mr and Mrs HHH put themselves front and center in storylines and it usually leads to them having big PPV matches (this has been proven time and time again with HHH, and now Stephanie is following suit, being knee-deep in the Bella angle, and already having a PPV match).

They're different than Heyman/Lana/Zeb - who are clearly just supporting players.

Heh.

Thanks. Another feature that wasn't around last I edited, but appreciated all the same. Think the second pic of AJ with the title's fair enough to be the featured infobox image for WWE Divas Championship? As a dinosaur of oh-12 I'm unsure if there been any warring over such things. No problem. The image seems good enough to me, I doubt anyone else would mind. Prefall (talk) 13:37, 11 April 2014 (UTC)
What were you planning on uploading in the near-future? I had the Wyatt photo prepped but you beat me to the punch; don't want to make any more work for ourselves than possible... and considering the amount of pics I req'd that's slightly less than a hella lotta work. @Papacha: I've uploaded basically everything I was going for. I might snatch the one of Renee Young, though. Thanks for your contributions! Prefall (talk) 03:16, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
I'm ambivalent on AJ Lee WM Axxess 2014, not because it doesn't fulfill the prerequisites of what a lead should be, just that it strikes me as definitely the lesser of the two aesthetically. But - subjectivity & stuff, and if you want to press I won't argue. Papacha (talk) 19:48, 20 April 2014 (UTC)
@Papacha: I thought about it for a while before I made the change. It grew on me after comparing them side-by-side; the lighting on the previous one may be better, but this one gives a fuller and cleaner view of her face. I think we should stick with it, myself.
On a related subject, what do you think about this newly uploaded photo of the Black Widow, compared to the one from a couple days ago? It might be closer to what we're looking for. Prefall (talk) 20:02, 20 April 2014 (UTC)

First Female WWE Superstar Challenge Winner

Since there's clearly a scan of the book that shows the record (and AJ retweeted a link to it, verifying that she won the contest in 2012) it seems like a good source to me. The Guinness site is just behind on updating, it says so there. Ranze (talk) 05:39, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

@Ranze: I'm aware that it seemingly legitimate. However, a photo by a random Twitter user will not be acceptable as a source (WP:VERIFY). We need a reliable secondary source to report it, or Guinness themselves. Until then, the only thing we can do is cite the book, but that will require verification from someone who owns it, which isn't so easy.
At the very least, her winning the tournament is already covered in the article. This bit will just have to be omitted until we can source it. Prefall 05:56, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Just located http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/gamers/preview/files/assets/basic-html/page15.html it is hosted on the official GWR web site, can we restore my edits with this substituted for the Twitter/Screencap? If so, next challenge, Triple H may have won a GWR in 2010 per http://www.sescoops.com/hhh-listed-in-guinness-world-records-how-old-is-cm-punk/ but can't seem to locate a report on it on the site as I have for Shelton/Brock/Vince so am searching now. Ranze (talk) 06:05, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
@Ranze: Interesting. That should work. I went ahead and archived that page as it appears to be temporary.
Also, I'm a bit iffy on listing these in C&A—I think a discussion at WP:PW might be necessary there. Prefall 06:22, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
Considering we have stuff like "Pro Wrestling Illustrated" awards there, it seems like an appropriate place. That said, perhaps Guinness should have its own heading instead of being put under WWE? I just wasn't sure since it was only 1 thing and it related to WWE accomplishments. Ranze (talk) 06:27, 9 February 2015 (UTC)
@Ranze: They are really out of place to me. I'm definitely going with them just being mentioned in Other media sections. A lot of these inclusions just seem like random trivia to me, too, but admittedly I'm not familiar with how Guinness works. Prefall 07:19, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

So I decided to out reach other fellow Wiki users to see if this information is true or false, as there are no sources or references regarding her return for the upcoming season. Would you know anything about this? I ask in a result of your thankfulness, maybe you could give me some insight whether or not she is returning? Appreciate the help, thanks. @MSMRHurricane: I haven't looked into it. However, if a reliable source can't be provided for seemingly controversial information, then it should be removed. But yes, I have explained to them constantly (you can see on my talk page if you haven't already) that they need to provide a legit reference, not just simply saying what they saw on TV that hasn't even become news online. But as long as I'm not violating any other rules Wiki states, I'll just keep reverting their changes until proof is provided. Thanks again, MSMRHurricane (talk) 20:44, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Regarding thanks on the WWE Divas Champions combined reigns table

Hey thanks for that fix, I was trying a crap ton of stuff to fix it and I had no idea it was so simple. However, if you notice the combined reigns table for the men's championships in WWE and the tag team championships, they don't need the "data-sort-type=number" text. Could you tell me why that is? Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic bracket

The NXT TakeOver 7 page has the bracket for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic tourney going on. Would you know how to make each cell have the smallest height possible? Most of them do, but a few don't and I want it to look nice and conserve space. Thanks. Aleuuhhmsc (talk) 00:08, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

@Aleuuhhmsc: I presume you're referring to the rows which have a line break (<br>) between the team name and its members? That seems to be intentional for styling purposes. Though, to answer your question, you can remove the line breaks and fit them all by increasing the value in the team-width parameter. Keep in mind the bracket will still condense itself on smaller resolutions. Prefall 00:37, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
@Prefall: Like look at these cells: Baron Corbin and Rhyno in the quarterfinals, Balor and Joe in the semifinals and the top championship cell in the bracket. Those are unnecessarily large for some reason.
@Aleuuhhmsc: Oh, I see. After a little testing, it is caused when numerous cells span more than one line. I'm not sure why that would affect certain other cells' height/padding, but it does. Seems to be an error in Module:TeamBracket. Prefall 02:21, 13 September 2015 (UTC)
@Prefall: so is there a fix for it? Aleuuhhmsc (talk) 02:31, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Combined days

"The combined days record is not notable."

Source? If it's not notable then why do we have the List_of_WWE_Divas_Champions#Combined_reigns section? Ranze (talk) 23:37, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

@Ranze: The combined reigns section in those articles is just an overall summary of the championship's history. Very rarely will a record of "combined days" be notable enough to be included in an individual wrestler's biography, because it is typically not covered by a reliable source. Prefall 23:45, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

Regarding reliable sources, do you think that this has to be covered for each wrestler individually? Or would being longest-combined being covered for any title or wrestler in particular establish that attribute as distinguished? Pretty sure they must've done that for Sammartino for example, so if it's notable to mention for one title, why not another? Ranze (talk) 23:47, 20 September 2015 (UTC)

@Ranze: A reliable source must be attributed to every contentious claim in an article. If we don't have a reliable source that covers AJ's combined days, then it is not worth noting in her article.
As for the other additions, the storyline events surrounding Nikki breaking the record have nothing to do with AJ. Prefall 01:01, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Incorrect, AJ was repeatedly referenced by name on Raw relating to her holding the record, so it does pertain to her. BTW please tell me what sites would qualify as reliable sources, considering we use a variety of them for wrestling. Ranze (talk) 01:25, 21 September 2015 (UTC)

Best — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 09:18, 7 October 2015 (UTC)

if you didn't get this 9 months ago ... yay!

Considering that you removed a bunch of sourced details from a confirmed interview with Dalton, I am hoping you might elaborate further on why these were "unencylopedic". I have seen personal life sections on many wrestler articles. Why are others' details more important than his? Ranze (talk) 07:49, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

@Ranze: Everything I removed were random tidbits from his Reddit AmA. Things like "he prefers low fives over hugs", "he stopped caring if people knew he loved wrestling", random recommendations, songs that he has listened to, and what he bathes in, which were not encyclopedic at all. I did keep other additions which were far more educational, such as his inspirations growing up, details regarding his amateur wrestling career, and his college degrees. Prefall 08:04, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

When he stopped caring about people harping on his wrestling fandom seems like a critical detail to his background though. If not for that, it's doubtful he would've followed through being a wrestler.

As for low5/rose-bath/handstand-shower stuff, if not his personal life (perhaps I'm guilty of taking him too seriously?) then couldn't this be listed under his gimmick?

I'd also like to restore the information about his musical tastes, except this time to the section about his career as a DJ. Some of the AMA comments reflect people who had actually heard him playing some of the music he loves on his station and introducing them to it. Ranze (talk) 08:10, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

@Ranze: My issue may be with the way things were constructed in the article that made them come off very abnormal and not relevant at all. The songs were presented as if it was just something he listened to as a reaction to an event, rather than it being his favorite thing or even an interest he has.
If such things are actually part of his wrestling gimmick, then they can be added back to the proper section, albeit re-written to reflect that. Prefall 08:25, 20 October 2015 (UTC)

Infobox parameter

Regarding the cause of death parameter I suggested and that was added to the professional wrestler infobox, I think it should have a <br /> after the word "of" so that it is streamlined and ends roughly where the other fields do so it will look more like other infoboxes, the infobox over at Kevin Peter Hall gave me the idea. Crash Underride 05:40, 28 November 2015 (UTC)

@Crash Underride: It does break after "of" (see Randy Savage). I intentionally added the functionality to stay inline only when the right-side column doesn't take up much space (see Umaga). He was a UFC heavyweight, it was not a one and done, he said he had summer slam for wwe to focus on after UFC 200. He was number 8 in the rankings, he got pulled out by the UFC. it's revelant for everyone to know. it's information that needs to be on his page so his fans can see. you have just as much right as I have to change this stuff, but it's the truth and it needs to be right there so fans can see he's no longer in the top 10 in the UFC heavyweight division. it fits will in the first paragraph. Button93013 (talk)
@Button93013: He was not signed to an active contract with UFC, and WWE specifically announced that they had "granted him a one-off opportunity" to fight at UFC 200, which is mentioned and cited in his article. Anything beyond that is speculation.
For that reason, he is not considered an active fighter and the rankings have no bearing. Prefall 09:10, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
Okay I understand that. He has a contract with WWE.. I know that. He had a disease which forced him out of the octagon. he no longer has that disease and he wanted to get back into the octagon to compete. He never said he was not gonna come back to the UFC after UFC 200.. he said he had summerslam to focus on and it would go from there, plus the deal made with Vince. He beat a top 10 heavyweight which forced him into the 8th spot into the rankings. Idk if you're a UFC fan, but before the dispute happened, you could see he was the 8th. leaving him open for a return. it's valuable info, if he would've stated that he was no longer gonna fight anymore, he wouldn't of been in the rankings. he never said yes, never said no. that's why he was there. after this dispute idk if he will be back given his age/WWE contract. so yea. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Button93013 (talkcontribs) 09:27, 10 August 2016 (UTC)
@Button93013: I actually agree with you and think that had he not failed the drug tests, he would have tried to work out another deal to continue fighting. However, that is still speculation on our part. We're supposed to include factual information that is useful to the reader. In this case, and with the information we know to be true, I think too much emphasis is being placed on the rankings. Though, if we were to actually note them, it would be better suited for the UFC 200 section, rather than the lead. Prefall 09:42, 10 August 2016 (UTC)

Hi Shad is my brother and i'm trying to help change his pic bc it's old. how can I do this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by GitaChiChi (talkcontribs) 07:51, 26 January 2017 (UTC)

@GitaChiChi: It is somewhat complicated, though there are a few ways that can be done:

Serial abuser

As a prominent contributor to Bill Goldberg you might want to look out for IP socks of User:Trepcost, a long-term abuser (Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Mangoeater1000). He bundled mass hyperbole into the article, which was later pooled into a "legacy" section. Since all the material was added by Trepcost, it should be kept out per WP:BLOCKEVASION. I'm doing my bit to keep this serial troll away, but could use some help. Cheers! 185.17.159.13 (talk) 22:50, 6 March 2017 (UTC)

Why did you delete my edit

My edit had no copyright problems it used COPYRIGHT FREE movie posters. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ANDREWs13 (talkcontribs) 23:51, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

@ANDREWs13: That's the thing, they're not copyright-free. They're copyrighted works with rationale for use in a specific article (in this case, the infobox of their respective films' main article). Wikipedia is very strict on usage of copyrighted works. See WP:NFC and WP:NFCC. Prefall 23:57, 10 May 2017 (UTC)

My edits on DC Extended Universe

You said that Diana Prince is not the character's name, though that is how she is credit. Secondly you stated that there's not a enough room for the images I added...but they very easily and clearly fit. Citing Whedon's work and acknowledging that he has worked on the Justice League film has nothing to do with being credited....but in all reality with all the press attention to the matter, can you really see them not giving credit?! You had no real reason to reverse my work.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 22:29, 13 June 2017 (UTC)

  • @DisneyMetalhead: I'm aware of what she is credited as. I've argued that same point on the talk page in a separate manner. The synopsis just paints the "Diana Prince" name in a misleading light. "Diana Prince" is her alias, not her real person, which is being described.
  • I recommend looking at List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films for a good view on what image formatting should look like on an article such as this. If we were to include photos of the director for each film, they would all bleed into other sections and overwhelm each other, which is to be avoided. We have to be very selective in this capacity.
  • I agree that Whedon will be credited, but we cannot assume such things. See WP:CRYSTAL. Prefall 22:48, 13 June 2017 (UTC)
@Prefall: again you have stated that photos of the directors don't fit and "bleed over into other sections", when my edits clearly made it work and didn't create any visual or formatting issues. You don't OWN the page, and just because you say "we have to be very selective in this capacity" - doesn't make that the deciding factor. If that where the case, how does an editor go about "selecting" which directors to use and which ones to not? Yeah, exactly your opinion is not law. Also - the List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films page should have the same rehaul done to it as well, as there's quite a bit of fanboy lingo there. I can see your argument for "Diana Prince" --- but again that's just your opinion.--DisneyMetalhead (talk) 05:54, 15 June 2017 (UTC)
  • @DisneyMetalhead: Depends on how you are viewing the article. I'm on 1920x1080 screen resolution, which is one of the most common, and it looks extremely poor. Hell, we are already using a {{Clear}} template to offset the space problem with the Patty Jenkins image. The "selecting" refers to the lack of space that we have to work with, and thus being forced to operate within our limits. It's about practicality, not me "owning" the article. Again, I would love to include a photo of every director just as much as you do, but that does not seem possible.
  • The sentence is currently structured to highlight her real person, which "Diana Prince" is not. That is not a matter of opinion. It could, however, be rephrased to fit that name into a proper context. Though, there is an ongoing discussion on the talk page to possibly scrap the "Diana Prince" name in general. AJ Lee edit

What was wrong with me listing when she used her song? Everyone else has that. --Evil Yugi (talk) 07:51, 14 January 2018 (UTC)

@Evil Yugi: All content needs to be sourced, and the date range for that song was not. Additionally, the AJ Lee article is currently nominated as a Good Article, so unsourced content would fail the criteria upon review. I also recommend reading the recent discussion on WikiProject Professional Wrestling regarding our need to get strict on enforcing Wikipedia's guidelines on the "In wrestling" section, which has not been up to standard. Diva Dirt - Is It Reliable?

There is a discussion currently ongoing in which we are trying to reach a consensus if Diva Dirt is reliable. You can view the discussion here. There has only been a couple of people who have responded. We need a wider input from more people. You're response is needed and appreciated. Thanks. DCEU producers

Recently you engaged in behavior that is typical of WP:edit-warring on the DC Extended Universe page. You claim that a source for each and every movie is needed, when the original source for Geoff Johns' involvement/hiring stated that he would be the "Kevin Feige" (of the Marvel Cinematic Universe) of the franchise. Along with that, he and Berg at the time were jointly confirmed to co-produce and be in charge of overseeing the entire franchise. Now that Berg has left, and Hamada and Nong have jointly replaced him - logic states that it will be the same case for those individuals as well. The consensus on the page (since its inception) has been that this is the case - and so therefore you are the one that needs to take to the talk-page as you disagree with the general consensus. Credits on the 'In development' are as they are revealed seeing as the film projects are each in different stages of development. --DisneyMetalhead (talk) 01:29, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

AJ Lee Review

Hi Prefall - I thought I'd let you know that I have started a WP:GA review of AJ Lee. It looks like Legobot hasn't notified you as the requester, so I thought it easier to do it manually. I have placed it on hold, as there is some wording issues I'd like to discuss before going further. Best Wishes, Lee Vilenski (talkcontribs) 11:23, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

CM Punk's nickname

It has to be re-emphasized, because with his many changes over the years, the 2018 admission under oath is the official answer.Nbagigafreak (talk) 04:12, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

@Nbagigafreak: Being the origin makes it the official name by default, does it not? The paragraph goes into detail about him making up wild stories and new names simply for fun, without giving them credence to the actual meaning. Maybe the first sentence can be re-worded to hammer the point home, since his testimony just reiterated it. Prefall 04:38, 5 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi Prefall, Greetings to you. I have reverted your edit on the above page. Pls note that the infobox for MMA fighter are based on Sherdog.com web site as per WP:MMA and if otherwise, it need to be sourced. Pls refer to wP:MMA for further details. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 04:44, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

@CASSIOPEIA: That seems like a strange guideline to have. Looking at it, WP:MMA#Infobox martial artist does not say anything about restricting to Sherdog. The only place I see something similar is at WP:MMABOX in reference to fight results. Citing his UFC profile for basic information like height, reach and "fighting out of" seems pretty uncontroversial. Prefall 06:52, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
Hi Prefall, I thought I remember I read somewhere in MMA WikiProject page a year back on fighter inbox info, yet I have checked and cant find it and might remember wrongly. My apologies. It is not controversial to use other source (as long as it is cited) on the infobox. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:45, 9 June 2018 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: No problem. Thank you for your kind responses. Prefall 07:48, 9 June 2018 (UTC)

Championships and accomplishments

Judging by the discussion I recently saw about the "in wrestling" section, I am wondering if you also made the change to put the championships and accomplishment as a sub-section. If so, that's not a correct. Not every wrestler has championships and accomplishments that are not strictly pro wrestling. Becca Swanson, for example has more than just accomplishments related to wrestling. She has won bodybuilding competitions. That's why it's not a sub-section. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it! 15:41, 14 June 2018 (UTC)

@Fishhead2100: And in those cases it will not be made a subsection. See Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar. Prefall 15:42, 14 June 2018 (UTC)
It shouldn't be a sub-section at all because I had to change it back to a main section on the Cody Rhodes article as he has an amateur accomplishment. It needs to be a section unto itself. There was nothing wrong with the way it was before. Mr. C.C.Hey yo!I didn't do it!

Wrestler Movesets

Why on earth would you remove wrestler movesets? Not everyone who looks them up keeps up with the shows. This is a huge mistake. Please explain to me in any conceivable way how this is a good idea.. --Evil Yugi (talk) 01:39, 30 June 2018 (UTC)

In wrestling

I see I opened a can of worms for your wikiproject. I just wanted to say I have looked back in there and am quite impressed with what has transpired. When I first made my comment I did not expect much to happen as in my experience wikiprojects can be a bit insular. I never thought it would lead to the section being removed, but am definitely not against such a course of action. If you need anything more from me let me know, but I am comfortable with how you are managing things. AIRcorn (talk) 07:14, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

@Aircorn: Haha, it has been a wild ride for sure. The WikiProject seems to have been reinvigorated at the prospect of cleaning up these articles from long-standing issues. As someone who has been involved for years, it is even surprising to me. Hopefully this attitude withstands the controversy. Thank you for your kind words, I will keep you in mind should things come up. Prefall 08:22, 9 July 2018 (UTC)

ROH Championship tables

Hey, I know you have been busy working on converting the tables, I appreciate it. I just wanted to say I noticed on the ROH tables that the references are in the notes section [1] and [2]. I dont have time to fix it now, but I can tomorrow night if no one else does. I just wasn't sure if the same thing applied to other tables as well. - Galatz גאליץשיחה Talk 19:11, 14 September 2018 (UTC)

@Galatz: Yeah, a lot of the tables I've been going through hadn't been updated in years and didn't have a dedicated reference column. The conversion method I'm using is mostly automated, so I can get through them in about 5 minutes. The only downside to that is that it respects the old format, otherwise it would take considerably longer to go through one-by-one.
If you can take care of them, that would be greatly appreciated. Prefall 19:50, 14 September 2018 (UTC)
