Hi — Welcome to my talk page — Please leave any messages below

  • If you post a message on this page, I'll normally reply on this page to avoid fragmenting the discussion.
  • If I've left you a message on your talk page, I will be watching it, so you're most welcome to reply there rather than here.
  • If appropriate, I will move talk from here to the relevant article's talk page, so that everyone can share in the discussion.
  • If you want to start a new discussion thread, please start it at the bottom of the page. Better still, click on the "new section" tab next to "edit this page", which will do that automatically.

(My thanks to Users JimWae and DLJessup for inspiring the above introduction)

Hallo. Können Sie mir ein bisschen helfen?

[edit]

Hallo!

Eniisi Lisika (talk) 12:39, 24 June 2018 (UTC) Eniisi[reply]

Alcester branch

[edit]

Hi; I agreed with your point (made in 2017) about the Alcester branch not being an Alcester to Hatton line. As I sometimes get trolled over this kind of thing, I wonder if you would be prepared to make the change? I will add some material to the page afterwards. Alcester–Hatton branch line

While I'm here:

1) Impressive language capability. I find the celtic languages quite hard work. My favourite recent discovery is the Italian for corkscrew; "cavatappi". Nice word.

2) You say start a new section by pressing the sign next to "edit this page". Couldn't find it. --Afterbrunel (talk) 09:38, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for the reminder, and the support for my point of view! I've put it on my "to do" list (and will look at it soonest: tonight, if possible).
Yes, you're right about the lack of the sign. It used to be there (and still is in the German Wikipedia for example) but the English Wp has clearly "evolved" while I wasn't looking. I'll change the wording now. -- Picapica (talk) 09:59, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your work. Afterbrunel (talk) 12:45, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please STOP making unreferenced changes that go against consensus. Useddenim (talk) 22:57, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

This kind of question-begging reminds me so much of "Have you stopped beating your wife?" :) -- Picapica (talk) 23:17, 17 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So how is your wife feeling, these days? 8D Useddenim (talk) 00:24, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, you know: usual method, the old tactile faculty? Still can't be beaten. -- Picapica (talk) 12:27, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Flint, Flintshire

[edit]

Hello,

Earlier this year you commented on the origin of the name Flint (Flintshire). I'm a new editor I've put some detailed information on the matter in the talk page, (I'm a little frustrated by someone who appears to me to be acting a little unreasonably) i believe the sources I've referenced are indeed secondary/tertiary sources discussing the subject matter directly ( even the reference to the Calendar of the Chancelory Roll I'm calling on the commentary of the compiler as published in 1914) and there's 5 of them! In any case my intention is not to publish those points but discredit the original source and thus remove it from the page. Even if it is prevalent it surely can't be right it's included unchallenged if it can be obviously disproven? Surely wikipedia isn't a place for known misinformation? I feel I don't have the resources or experience to compete for this, so perhaps I may ask for you to share your opinion on the matter?

Kind Regards
