Note: All columns in this table are sortable, allowing you to rearrange the table so the articles most interesting to you are shown at the top. All images have mouse-over popups with more information. For more information about the columns and categories, please consult the documentation and please get in touch on SuggestBot's talk page with any questions you might have.

SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better — thanks for helping.

If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from Nettrom (talk), SuggestBot's caretaker. -- SuggestBot (talk) 13:14, 23 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2017 election voter message

[edit]

Hello, P. S. Burton. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Lazarus Aaronson scheduled for TFA

[edit]

This is to let you know that Lazarus Aaronson has been scheduled as today's featured article for 18 February 2018. Please check that the article needs no amendments. If you're interested in editing the main page text, you're welcome to do so at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/February 18, 2018. Ealdgyth - Talk 17:08, 19 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm looking at the lead, and I'm not getting any hits in Wikipedia on "post-Georgian". Are its influences more Georgian than modernistic? - Dank (push to talk) 00:47, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I believe that would be a more apt and clear description. It might be that William Baker uses “post-Georgian” since Aaronson was never included in the Georgian anthologies and debuted a little to late to be called a proper Georgian poet.P. S. Burton (talk) 01:14, 22 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see your point. Actually, the blurb is a little longer than average, so if we can condense this point into one or two words, that would be great. The reviewer seems to be saying that he wasn't innovative enough to rank as modernistic ... that seems safe enough. Does my edit work for you? - Dank (push to talk) 13:58, 24 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about The City of Edinburgh Council

[edit]

Hello, P. S. Burton,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether The City of Edinburgh Council should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The City of Edinburgh Council .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. Requested move of Template:Works by Niccolò Machiavelli

[edit]

I have requested a move of {{Works by Niccolò Machiavelli}} to {{Niccolò Machiavelli}}, merging and replacing a template with essentially the same content. Since you originally created one of the templates, I thought you might be interested in the discussion at Template talk:Works by Niccolò Machiavelli#Requested move 10 October 2019. Message from Songwaters

[edit]

Hi, P. S. Burton. I noticed that after I reverted two edits you made to Gladiator (2000 film), you re-reverted it. This goes against the principle of Bold, revert, discuss. For the record, I reverted back to the percent sign and slash for concision and consistency across our film articles; MOS:PERCENT doesn't explicitly say we must use words for non-scientific articles. If you disagree, please open a discussion on the article's talk page. Thank you. Songwaters (talk) 15:55, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
