Hello, Oliwiasocz. Thank you for your work on Timothy (Szretter). Moriwen, while examining this page as a part of our page curation process, had the following comments:

I'm unsure about the title here -- should it definitely be "Timothy (Szretter)" and not "Timothy Szretter"? I see it's the first on Russian wikipedia and the second on German wikipedia. Usually Orthodox clergy articles are just their religious name and their birth surname, no parentheses.

Content forking Slavs in Lower Pannonia

[edit]

Please review Wikipedia:Content forks. Likewise, by the editing of the two redirects, it's clear that you were aware or became aware of the existence of the previous article. This not the way to act in a known contentious topic area. (I'll send you the standard warning for that after this message.) --Joy (talk) 07:03, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The reason I'm particularly concerned is that this is 36 kilobytes of text that would need to be reviewed by reviewing Polish Wikipedia editor histories and edit summaries, after we already have 43 kilobytes of text on the same topic over here. This is just a pointless burden on the English Wikipedia volunteers. If you want to introduce some text that may be missing in the existing article, please feel free to do that, in edits that are clearly described in edit summaries and attributed specifically so we know they weren't e.g. written by some long-term-abuse sockpuppet years ago. --Joy (talk) 07:11, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise, there's been a lot of discussions over the years, you can see it in the talk pages of the pages you edited like Talk:Principality of Lower Pannonia or Talk:Slavs in Lower Pannonia. The matter of what constituted the principality, do we talk just about the Croatian aspects, and whatnot, have a history of ruffling feathers, so this approaching this topic without examining these various pitfalls would not be advisable at all. --Joy (talk) 07:14, 17 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Balkans or Eastern Europe, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you created or have recently made significant changes to, Rocket cruiser, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for pages, so it has been blanked and redirected. Three typical reasons for this are that: (1) the article's subject appears to fail our notability guidelines; (2) the article is unsourced; or (3) the sources used in the article are unreliable. The page's history is preserved and it is possible to restore the article: If you believe that this page should remain included on Wikipedia or that this action was taken in error, then you may revert the edit that blanked and redirected the page.

Wikipedia:Your first article has more information about creating articles, and you may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. voorts (talk/contributions) 00:52, 22 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Featuring your work on Wikipedia's front page: DYKs

[edit]

Thank you for your recent articles, including Antoni Owsianik, which I read with interest. When you create an extensive and well referenced article, you may want to have it featured on Wikipedia's main page in the Did You Know section. Articles included there will be read by thousands of our viewers. To do so, add your article to the list by clicking the big blue button at WP:DYKNOM. Alternatively you can use the following user script: User:SD0001/DYK-helper. Which can be activated with one click after turning automatic script intallation in your Preferences->Gadgets (check the "Install scripts without having to manually edit JavaScript files" option and save page; then visit the DYK-helper page and click install; then go to your new article and you'll find the new DYK menu). Let me know if you need help, Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 02:07, 22 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
