User talk:Liao
Hello Liao, welcome to Wikipedia. You might like to start by reading the tutorial and introducing yourself at the new users page. If you have any questions, you can ask at the help desk or on my talk page. Two useful tips are that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~) and you can preview your changes before you save using the show preview button. You can regularly find new tips on the Community Portal. I look forward to reading your great articles and I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian. :) Angela. 13:40, Oct 26, 2004 (UTC)

ThinkPad Reverts
[edit]I don't understand why you keep reverting any change at all to the criticism section of ThinkPad (especially to remove notable and well cited criticism). I have reverted your changes and given my reasoning at Talk:ThinkPad#Reverts. I hope we can work together to improve the article. --Karnesky 01:07, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
Enjoyed your wiki page
[edit]Leo,
I enjoyed your Wiki page, especially the part about China's scientific discoveries. Do you know Cong Cao's article "China's Nobel Prize Complex?" It is at http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:9BPOW9gpp28J:china-us.uoregon.edu/publications/Minerva-2004.pdf cong cao china's nobel prize complex&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1 <http://209.85.165.104/search?q=cache:9BPOW9gpp28J:china-us.uoregon.edu/publications/Minerva-2004.pdf cong cao china's nobel prize complex&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1>
Cong Cao has an interesting list in the article.

AfD nomination of List of Chinese inventions
[edit]An editor has nominated List of Chinese inventions, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Chinese inventions and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Jayden54Bot 18:26, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
It is both strongly against WP policy, and counter-productive to remove an AfD template from an article, unless you want to see the article deleted. It is the best way of attracting readers of the article to vote in the Afd debate. Johnbod 22:36, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- With all due respect. It is just your personal opinions about what is "the best way" of doing any thing. And your sentence of " ..unless you want ..." reads like a unpleasant threaten to me. I reverted the article back and gave explanation there. I'd like to discuss with anybody with any argument. But mutual respect is the prerequisite. --Leo 23:06, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
- Having the article deleted will "disturb the normal reading" even more. It is not my personal opinion: "Do not remove ..." is stated on the AfD tag. You haven't even added it to the talk page. Johnbod 20:53, 14 April 2007 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Hai-Sha Ni
[edit]An article that you have been involved in editing, Hai-Sha Ni, has been listed by me for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hai-Sha Ni. Thank you. WLU 17:57, 18 April 2007 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on The ultimate team organization software, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.
If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Evil1987 22:26, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

DYNAMIC BINDING

Hi Liao,
Thanks for the nice commit in that article.
However, doesn't it introduce an inconsistence? Later on in the article, another paragraph suggests that data flow analysis is only needed for global CSE, not in a basic block (local CSE). Your contribution suggests that data flow analysis is used in all the cases.
Would it be possible to clarify that point?
Best, --MathsPoetry (talk) 02:16, 11 September 2011 (UTC)
The article Array access analysis has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable software stub, unreferenced since July 2009.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Stuartyeates (talk) 08:27, 8 October 2011 (UTC)
Nomination of Peter Deadman for deletion
[edit]A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Peter Deadman is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peter Deadman until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.
Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Rathfelder (talk) 21:43, 2 October 2015 (UTC)

Notice of Edit warring noticeboard discussion
[edit]Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there is currently a discussion involving you at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring regarding a possible violation of Wikipedia's policy on edit warring. Per your comments here, the reason that inline external links are not banned is because that may be used in infoboxes and the external links sections. Other uses require knowledge and skill. See WP:EL. As for claims that I'm a "cyber bully", there's a difference between following the editing rules on Wikipedia and pushing people around. I offered to discuss your edits (with the comments that you later deleted) yet you decided you knew better and wanted your additions in the article. Sure. I'm a cyber bully. Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:28, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- You're adding more content: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Race_condition&curid=475952&diff=755918898&oldid=755916141 when you're the subject of a WP:3RR discussion? Walter Görlitz (talk) 22:56, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
- Compare your edits to this one, which I simply had to make minor corrections to, in order to bring it up to Wikipedia guidelines. Walter Görlitz (talk) 23:35, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
We write prose, not bullet lists
[edit]Your change to the race condition article intentionally took prose and converted it to a bullet list. Please WP:PROSE. Walter Görlitz (talk) 05:30, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
- Both prose and bullets are allowed. No such thing like "We write prose, not bullet lists" exist in any wikipedia guideline. Primarily prose and primarily bullets, not exclusively prose or exclusively bullets. Learn to understand guideline first before policing Wikipedia. You are really a cyber bully. --Liao 23:33, 6 January 2017 (UTC)

- Again, the rule reads, "Articles are intended to consist primarily of prose, though they may contain lists." https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Embedded_lists#Prose_versus_lists .
- You are correct, but take a look at the next sentence: "Prose is preferred in articles as prose allows the presentation of detail and clarification of context". The example that follows shows that the list is short and contains little content, unlike your list, while the prose was detailed. The alternative would be to add {{prose}} to the section. You may also want to read Wikipedia:Writing better articles#Paragraphs. If you want your list, you are welcome to add it back, but it's not OK to dictate to me that I "Learn to understand guideline first before policing Wikipedia", because I do understand it better than you. Feel free to raise it on the talk page of the article to ask which works better. I'm willing to admit that I could be wrong assuming and be willing to go along with a majority decision (if it's made based on policy, guidelines and manuals of style).
