I think it's worth adding external links to your page. Some words where I thought this could be useful:
- ketone
- acetoacetate, beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetone
- macronutrient
- ketogenic diets
- ketosis
- beta-ketothialase
- Krebs cycle
- ATP
- lipolytic (to lipolysis)
Grammatical edits:
- "Naturally"- do you mean it occurs naturally or is this a comment, because it's not the kind of phrase you would see in an encyclopedia
- "BHB can be converted to acetoacetic acid; and it is this acetoacetic acid" - make two separate sentences/combine to one
- Notation of BHB is changed multiple times- the first time you say "beta-hydroxybutyrate", possibly add the other two notations in parentheses for ease of understanding
- "Produced in the mitochondria of liver cells, acetoacetate is formed by" - re-word to remove comma and make it sound more formal, ex "Acetoaetate is produced in the mitochondria of liver cells by..."
- "several effects [4]. These effects" - edit to "several effects, ranging from..."
- "On the other hand"- not a phrase that is usually used in encyclopedias
Content edits:
- The sentence: " ß-hydroxybutyrate is technically not a ketone due reduced molecule resulting in a hydroxyl group on the first carbon"- maybe this would be more useful if it were near a picture. Alternatively, why is it still classified as a ketone if it's not actually one?
- "However, more research must be done"- opinion statement, should not be in an encyclopedia article. Maybe say something like "Research on xyz is lacking...""

[edit]- Add blue links!
- Review the guidelines for chemicals or chemical groups, just in case.
- I feel like you should have a section on naming conventions, if there are any
- Populate the "see also" section. I am sure you are already going to do this, but w/e
- You could probably pare down your word use a little, i.e. "physiological conditions" instead of "regular physiological conditions" etc.
