Hi. I reverted your edit on the above article. There is a very good reason. Short on time right now. Will explain later. John from Idegon (talk) 19:06, 1 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, again. Sorry for the terse little note above. In school infoboxes, logos are the preferred content for the top illustration field. There are three reasons for this, two legal and one aesthetic.
  1. Logo images are not licensed as CC By-SA 3.0 like almost all other content on Wikipedia. They are actually still copyrighted and available to use under a "fair-use" exception. This is the same exception that allows the nightly TV news to flash and image of the Golden Arches on the screen to accompany a story about McDonalds. One of the restrictions is that the image can only be used in a "primary" position in the article. In other words, if it isn't at the top, it cannot be used. No such restrictions exist on photos uploaded properly to en.Wikipedia or to Commons. They are free to use or copy for anything anywhere anytime. Using the photo elsewhere in the article is just fine. Using the logo elsewhere isn't.
  2. Also due to "fair use" restrictions, Logos uploaded to en.Wikipedia must be used. We cannot store them. If it isn't actually on the one and only article it can be on, it will be deleted. This is what drew my attention to the change I reverted. I got a notice that the logo, which I had uploaded, was going to be deleted.
  3. Aesthetically, infoboxes are for quick reference. Photos invite study, are much bigger in size and generally much less suited to an infobox than a logo. Are there infoboxes with pictures? Sure. There are many instances where a logo for a school is not readily available, is not uploadable, or simply does not exist.
Thanks for all the good work you have been doing on the Northern Indiana area. I was born and raised in Hobart, lived most of my life in Kalamazoo, and ran a hotel in Niles for several years. My Mother's family is originally from Niles. I appreciate what you are doing and I am always glad to help. Drop me a note on my talk if you like.
