Scottish independence polling 2011-2014

[edit]

Hello, could you please add to your graph File:Scottish independence polling 2011-2014.png information as to what the colors represent. As of now one has to go further down in the article to get an idea what the colors stand for, but it remains unclear if that idea might be correct. Therefore I would ask you to please add a little box where it says what each color stands for. Thank you, noclador (talk) 13:44, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Next UK General Election

[edit]

Hi, I notice you on the next United Kingdom general election talk page. Bondegezou and I have been discussing the possibility of a prose summary of the major shifts and trends in public opinion over the Parliament (where that can be seen reported in reliable sources) on the article page. I would tend to agree, and have started to draft, but would like others' views before I put too much work into it. Please comment! DrArsenal (talk) 13:29, 16 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Scottish National Party, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Alex Neil. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Section headings

[edit]

Thanks for all your good work on NZ election articles. Just some feedback on section headings—Wikipedia uses sentence case and not title case. Hence, the correct section heading is "Votes summary" and not "Votes Summary". Schwede66 21:19, 25 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Graph of Scottish Opinion Polling for the Holyrood Election

[edit]

Could you possibly update File:Scottish_regional_opinion_polling_2014-2016.png, please? It's looking VERY dated at the moment. Thanks DrArsenal (talk) 23:39, 18 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Graph of Scottish Opinion Polling for the Holyrood Election (2)

[edit]

Hello Humongous125,
thank you for uploading this very nice and informative graph under a creative commons license. I have uploaded a copy of the the file to Wikimedia Commons: c:File:Scottish regional opinion polling 2014-2016.png. This has the advantage that other language wikimedia projects can also use it. It would be very nice if you could regularly update it as well.

Tennis rankings

[edit]

Hello. Please note that tennis rankings are not updated daily, they are only updated on Monday (and not every Monday). You always have to wait for the official ATP update on Monday before you report the ranking as official on Wikipedia. Andy is still No. 2. He will become No.1 on 7 November, but the article already mentions that. The infoboxes can only contain the official rankings. No future, "live" or projected rankings. Just wait till Monday. Thanks.—J. M. (talk) 14:40, 5 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Elections in Australia graph

[edit]

Nice work on the graph "Australian Elections.png". However, there is an incorrect colour coding of the light blue bars 2010-2016. These are (presumably) the Liberal National Party of Queensland. (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_National_Party_of_Queensland) In the graph it looks like you have them colour coded as one of the protectionist party from the early 20th century. The actual png file needs to be modified to correct this. Many thanks for taking the time to produce this graph.

Google Code-In 2019 is coming - please mentor some documentation tasks!

[edit]

Hello,

Google Code-In, Google-organized contest in which the Wikimedia Foundation participates, starts in a few weeks. This contest is about taking high school students into the world of opensource. I'm sending you this message because you recently edited a documentation page at the English Wikipedia.

I would like to ask you to take part in Google Code-In as a mentor. That would mean to prepare at least one task (it can be documentation related, or something else - the other categories are Code, Design, Quality Assurance and Outreach) for the participants, and help the student to complete it. Please sign up at the contest page and send us your Google account address to [email protected], so we can invite you in!

From my own experience, Google Code-In can be fun, you can make several new friends, attract new people to your wiki and make them part of your community.

If you have any questions, please let us know at [email protected].

Thank you!

Prime ministers of spain FYI

[edit]

Oh yes, the zig-zagging issue. Don't worry, it has nothing to do with the order of the lines in this article but, rather, it happens at random. Sometimes, you may see it changes for you if you make any edit in the page, but it's not related to the edit and you may see it re-appear in the future again. I don't know what causes it, but I've come to the conclusion long ago that it doesn't have to do with the code in this page but with some visualization issue at specific points of time (maybe it's some sporadic issue with the code of the template, the browser, the wiki itself, or whatever). New Zealand

[edit]

Hello. I just want to thank you for your work on Template:1996 New Zealand general election and the inclusion of constituencies votes. It's a real shame the electoral commission only published such data for the 1996 and 1999 elections. For the latter years, I haven't found a better source than adam carr, which is good but lack the minor parties. Still, thanks for the great work. Cordially.--Aréat (talk) 15:30, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Aréat:. Thankyou for your kind words, no worries. I couldn't find them for a long time either, however I think the electoral commission have just uploaded all the results up to 2017. They're well hidden and I just happened to stumble upon them. I've just updated 1999 and am slowly going through them when I have time. Humongous125 (talk) 22:05, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2002 statistic 2005 statistic 2008 statistic 2011 statistic 2014 statistic 2017 statistic

@Humongous125: Awesome! Thank you so much. I had been looking for them unsucessfuly. It's such a relief. Thank you, really!--Aréat (talk) 22:29, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, I deleted the line in the 1996 template, because we use it for table in which there is a hard threeshold which party absolutely have to reach to get seats, like in the Israeli elections. In New Zealand, however, a party can not only get seats throught the constituencies without reaching 5 % of the party list vote, like the Maori one did this week, but can also get more seats out of the party list % of votes once they got at least one of those constituency seat. If the Maori party had won that seat and got 4% of the party list vote, it would have got seats in the second column, for example.--Aréat (talk) 23:04, 19 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Aréat:. To let you know I have updated the New Zealand election pages up to 2017 with the constituency results. I will update the 2020 election when the full results are released around the 20th of November. Humongous125 (talk) 17:05, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for notifying me! I noticed you also did a percentage variation column on the constituencies. Personally I would have made instead a seat variation column, as a party can have a slight decrease of vote share but keep its number of seats or even increase it in a FPTP system. And there's already a percentage variation shown in the party list. But that's just my opinion, and a bit late to say it. ^^' Thanks again for your great work.--Aréat (talk) 23:40, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @Aréat:. Not sure I totally follow. Do you mean like adding additional columns to the results table as per the example Ive done here? Humongous125 (talk) 00:44, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, but here it's quite crowded, which I think make it less easily readable. On the french wiki, when dealing with such a voting system, we only show "Votes, %, seats and /- seats" for the constituencies, and "Votes, %, /- % and seats" for the party list, followed by "Total seats and /- seats". This way, there's the important infos from both sides without crowding too much, the /- % is less important for the consistuency system, and the /- seats of the party list is easy math from the othes data shown. But that's just my two cents from the way we're used to do it on the other side. It's great anyways that you filled in all these results. The tables with only one column of votes was very misleading, making it seem like New Zealanders only used one vote like in Lesotho.--Aréat (talk) 01:00, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
