Speedy deletion nomination of Lefty.

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Lefty. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. A tag has been placed on Judas Rabbi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content. You may wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Speedy deletion nomination of FREEDO

[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on FREEDO requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Scog (talk) 10:05, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. Scog (talk) 10:15, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

February 2010

[edit]

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from pages that you have created yourself, as you did with Phil J.. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Cassandra 73 (talk) 10:18, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning. You will be blocked from editing the next time you vandalize a page, as you did with this edit to Judas Rabbi. -petiatil »user»speak 10:19, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is the last warning you will receive for your disruptive edits.
The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did with Phil J., you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Jdrewitt (talk) 10:50, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have been temporarily blocked from editing for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. -- Ed (Edgar181) 13:23, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have declined the speedy deletion request on this, because it is not really covered by any of the speedy deletion criteria; but it is still not suitable for a Wikipedia article, because Wikipedia is not for helping to publicise newly-invented games, drinks, philosophies or anything else. We only report on what is already established, and the test is notability which is not a matter of opinion but needs to be demonstrated by showing "significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject." In other words, have other people, independent of the subject, thought it interesting and important enough to write about? This is explained in Wikipedia is not for things made up one day. You seem to be having trouble finding suitable subjects: please read WP:Your first article carefully.

I have nominated the article under the Proposed deletion process - here is the formal notice:

The article Pearlism has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

there is no indication that this is notable; Wikipedia is not for philosophies made up one day.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JohnCD (talk) 11:03, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Pearlism, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pearlism. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Papa November (talk) 11:40, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some friendly advice

[edit]

Hi Freedo, I understand that it is very frustrating when articles are deleted. However, you really need to read the notability criteria. In short, subjects can only be included in Wikipedia if they have already been the subject of multiple independent reliable sources (published books, magazines or newspapers with at least national circulation). User-contributed sites like YouTube, MySpace or wiki projects are almost never acceptable as reliable sources. If you can add a few citations of reliable sources, then that will help to convince other editors that these subjects are notable enough to stay on Wikipedia.

In the meantime, there are plenty of excellent alternative wiki projects online, which include articles about very new concepts. Have a look at Wikia - they host several thousand wiki projects (for example, the Atheism wiki), which might be ideal homes for your article about Pearlism. If you can't find a suitable Wiki, you can create your own for free! There are excellent instructions available on the Wikia site. Papa November (talk) 11:54, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion nomination of Template:Name = Dakota Spann

[edit]
blanked page
blanked page

Hi Freedo(Dakota Spann), this is a message from an automated bot, regarding Template:Name = Dakota Spann. You blanked the page and, since you are its sole author, FrescoBot has interpreted it as a request for deletion of the page and asked administrators to satisfy the requests per speedy deletion criterion G7. Next time you want a page that you've created deleted, you can explicitly request the deletion by inserting the text {{db-author}}. If you didn't want the page deleted, please remove the {{db-author}} tag from the page and undo your blanking or put some content in the page. Admins are able to recover deleted pages. Please do not contact the bot operator for issues not related with bot's behaviour. To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=FrescoBot}} somewhere on your talk page. -- FrescoBot (msg) 00:32, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
