Halloween cake DYK
Hi Edwardx: I notice that you started the review at Template:Did you know nominations/Halloween cake, but have not completed it. Just a reminder in case you forgot about it. North America1000 02:01, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, North America. Review finished - good to go! Edwardx (talk) 17:53, 10 February 2016 (UTC)

Why?
Had a question. Why aren't prolific editors like you administrators on Wikipedia? (By the way thanks for reducing the over-linking on the Cottalango Leon DYK nomination).Xender Lourdes (talk) 19:46, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- I have been asking myself the same question. The Wikipedia:Requests for adminship process can be rather intimidating. It is something I have been seriously thinking about, and your kind words are encouraging. Overlinking is one of my bugbears, but when I looked at my earliest edits, I was doing it myself! Edwardx (talk) 19:57, 10 February 2016 (UTC)
- I have seen the section and have had the opportunity to go through innumerable RfAs that have been put up in the past years (I am a prolific reader). What I see is that you have a good span of experience to be in administration. If you think you have the one week time to go through the RfA process I can invest my time into nominating your request. Xender Lourdes (talk) 01:50, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Don't be put off by that poll. Actually, give it time and hopefully others will look into your editing and give you a good score. I see good content creation, good AfD numbers, a long history here, and a nice manner at talk pages. Seems like you have the right stuff and would pass easily. It's not a guantlet for everyone. Unless you have some skeletons that would come up, I guess it would be a cakewalk for you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 06:49, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- Like what Xender Lourdes and Anna Frodesiak said. North America1000 13:32, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you Xender Lourdes, Anna Frodesiak and North America for your kind words and thoughts. Edwardx (talk) 21:31, 11 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello. Not sure if you are interested in editing the worst idea ever. I have just added a reference, but I can't load the weblink because I've already read too many of their articles online (so I am literally reading the paper I bought earlier today). Perhaps you would be able to load the weblink and add it to the reference? Thank you. Zigzig20s (talk) 18:18, 22 February 2016 (UTC)
- Perhaps editing the article itself might be an even worse idea. I expect it to be a battleground. I'm worrying what might happen to all the hard-working oligarchs who call London home. Edwardx (talk) 19:39, 22 February 2016 (UTC)

Proposed deletion of Tom Cobley Tavern
The article Tom Cobley Tavern has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Probably better off merging with Spreyton. I doubt this will ever expand beyond a few sentences.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jolly Ω Janner 04:01, 28 February 2016 (UTC)

- Dear David, I am sure that your additions are well-intentioned, and the information you have added is interesting. In the edit summary, you write, "Information from primary source (Tom Gilbey), during series of one to one interviews conducted August 2015-Feb 2016." Alas, Wikipedia is based mostly on secondary sources. See WP:PRIMARY for more. Even where we use primary source information, it needs to have been published in a reliable source. See Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources.
- Phrases like "universally recognised among the fashion cognoscenti" are not appropriate language for an encyclopedia, see WP:PEACOCK.
- With regret, I am going to have to undo your additions again, but I will try to find time to expand the article in an encyclopedic manner. Edwardx (talk) 12:22, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Dear Edward Many thanks for your note of explanation. I would greatly appreciate your involvement in making the page as complete an encyclopaedic entry as possible, as laid down by Wiki. I also have some fantastic and exclusive photographs from TG's archive which work in conjunction with the copy. Merged an article of yours
I have merged your article on Aristophil into Musée des Lettres et Manuscrits. It's a little embarrassing for Wikipedia - the BBC looked at the latter and didn't see anything about the scandal, failing to realize you had covered it at an article on the company. But unless there is a lot more out there about the company, I think it's best to cover it at the article for the institution that served as its public face. Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Ken Owen (journalist) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Thanks. A refamiliarization with the speedy deletion criteria might be productive. Edwardx (talk) 18:35, 20 March 2016 (UTC)
Would you please take a look at this? The references were removed. It is true that there were probably too many red links, and the new picture is better, but it would be nice to restore some of the old content.Zigzig20s (talk) 21:43, 15 March 2016 (UTC)
- I removed most of the referenced info but kept the new picture and removed some red links. I hope this doesn't turn into an edit war.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:27, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
- Looks to have calmed down now! Edwardx (talk) 18:37, 20 March 2016 (UTC)

Is there really no article about Boujis? Hard to believe. I know there isn't one about Jimmy'z either...Zigzig20s (talk) 12:19, 16 March 2016 (UTC)
- I think Jimmy'z is more of a priority. Edwardx (talk) 13:05, 18 March 2016 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
The Tireless Contributor Barnstar | |
With 2000 articles, nearly 50,000 edits and innumerable DYKs, few have made such a significant contribution to Wikipedia as you have Edward. You deserve a medal but instead I hereby award you this rotating barnstar as a symbol of your unstinting efforts. Philafrenzy (talk) 23:41, 22 March 2016 (UTC) |
- Thank you kindly. That star is strangely hypnotic - a bit like editing Wikipedia. Edwardx (talk) 23:50, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- You're back in the room! LoopZilla (talk) 15:36, 24 March 2016 (UTC)
Are you able to photoshop the two nobodies out of this picture please? It seems a little invasive. I would hate to be immortalised in front of such a place.Zigzig20s (talk) 09:49, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- It would involve a great deal of work to remove them to a reasonable standard - have you ever tried using Photoshop for what you propose? They are just walking past and it looks like a perfectly respectable restaurant chain. Even if they knew they were in the photo, and it is most unlikely that they will ever know, I find it hard to imagine that they would object. In any event, no law or Wikipedia policy is being broken here. However, I might have another photo that I could use. Edwardx (talk) 11:54, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- Yes, uploading people-free pictures would be preferable. Thank you.Zigzig20s (talk) 12:04, 31 March 2016 (UTC)

Quite a photographic spree!Zigzig20s (talk) 23:20, 25 March 2016 (UTC)

- Perhaps you could take a picture of the Creative Artists Agency office building too...Zigzig20s (talk) 12:05, 31 March 2016 (UTC)
- They are based at "5th Floor, 3 Shortlands, Hammersmith". So, it is just an office in a boring modern tower. If I pass that way, I might... Edwardx (talk) 11:15, 2 April 2016 (UTC)

Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! Yoninah (talk) 21:34, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

- Thank you Yoninah. Flattery will get you everywhere, but the hook idea was the work of Philafrenzy. QPQ now done. Edwardx (talk) 22:02, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

Gorkana could perhaps have an article, but how to make it not sound like an ad?Zigzig20s (talk) 21:42, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Never heard of them before, but "Gorkana PR Products" sounds like something you need to be a bit careful about writing about, as other editors may be sceptical about NPOV. Plus the company itself may later try to massage the article. Perhaps see what is out there via Gooogle News? Edwardx (talk) 22:02, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
- Familiarity with Gorkana is now a requirement for media and communications jobs apparently. I might as well give up and marry up!Zigzig20s (talk) 22:12, 10 April 2016 (UTC)
