File permission problem with File:Bryan Shelton.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Bryan Shelton.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to [email protected], stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to [email protected].

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Also:

Photos from Jamie Howell

Hi Disavian. Years ago, you uploaded a number of photos contributed by photographer Jamie Howell and they now appear to have been mostly/entirely deleted. Do you still, by chance, have an email from Mr. Howell granting the license that you could forward to [email protected]? Or are you still in contact with him? There is a form at WP:CONSENT that we now ask for photographers to submit. (We used to be much more informal and someone's word that they had obtained permission from the photographer was sufficient, but Wikipedia now requires a statement of permission from the photographer himself to be on file.) --B (talk) 12:53, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

  • I'd suggest trying the info at the bottom of [1] - I haven't talked to him recently, and while I saw those photos get deleted, I've been a bit busy with work IRL to do anything about it. Disavian (talk) 15:32, 24 September 2015 (UTC)

2009 Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech vacated a win in 2009. Don't undo my edit. Kobra98 (talk) 22:26, 14 October 2015 (UTC)

Shouldn't it be listed as 11-3 (1 vacated)? Disavian (talk) 22:40, 14 October 2015 (UTC)
No. Examples: 2005 USC Trojans football team, 2004 USC Trojans football team, 2007 Alabama Crimson Tide football team, 2010 Ohio State Buckeyes football team Kobra98 (talk) 18:05, 15 October 2015 (UTC)

Deletion of Erdős number information

Hi! Thank you for all of your contributions!  :) I noticed that some guy is running around Wikipedia deleting Erdős number information, which I think is unjustifiable. I just reverted one such deletion, explaining why. Your point of view on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

Looking to get involved in helping articles to get to good/featured status tips?

I am looking to help get articles to featured or good status, and I do not know where to begin. What is a good starting point? Jab843 (talk) 20:14, 22 November 2015 (UTC)

Were there particular articles that you had in mind? Disavian (talk) 23:43, 24 November 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Cake

D; you probably have been following this already, but User:Cake has been doing some good work with historical GT football articles. For example, "Cake" recently nominated 1917 Georgia Tech Golden Tornado football team as good article. I recently awarded Cake with WikiProject Barnstar as recognition for his good work. Just fyi - Mistercontributer (talk) 15:12, 24 January 2016 (UTC)

Any help on Tech football before the SEC, especially from 1915 to 1928, is much appreciated. Cake (talk) 17:34, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
