Tagging of 2532 (Milton Keynes) Squadron
Please note that WP:CSD says "Contributors sometimes create pages over several edits, so administrators should avoid deleting a page that appears incomplete too soon after its creation." You tagged this page within 3 minutes of its creation. May I suggest doing new page payroll from the older section of the back log? DES (talk) 20:47, 28 February 2010 (UTC)
- you said "Apart from that, I've seen CSD tags being handed out instantaneously with either Huggle or Twinkle, so I don't really see a need to change my practice." That seems to say that because others are acting poorly, you shouldn't stop doing so. I urge you to consider that this sort of tagging is in many cases quite WP:BITEy. Speedy deletion declined: Fred lanting
Hello De728631. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Fred lanting, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: known for being the author of is an assertion of notability. Thank you. ϢereSpielChequers 20:36, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

How to add the reference of an external page owned by me?
I am a new editor on Wikipedia. I am having a problem in adding a reference of a page written by me. Although after deleting the reference, the tag of copyright violation is there. Can anyone guide me how to add my page from external website? Secondly, how to remove the tag legally when not adding the reference?
Counter-vandalism
Hello! Such edits like [1] and [2] make severe obstacles to quick and clean vandalism elimination. First of all, after your two edits the article was still substantially vandalized. Second, there is an excellent tool to cancel all last bad edits from one source, which could be applied before your intervention, but which cannot revert a sequence of edits from more than one user. Please, request a rollback permission and fight vandalism in a civilized way or, if you have it not, then look to the page history and write the last good version over the current. Never revert vandals’ edits one by one. Incnis Mrsi (talk) 21:36, 25 March 2010 (UTC)
Naveen Nursing Home
Just a friendly note on Naveen Nursing Home. I declined the speedy request because there is a good faith assertion of importance (only hospital [in area] to have...). A7 only looks at assertions of importance, and is purposely a lower standard than notability. If you think the hospital isn't notable, then redirecting, prod, or AfD would be the way to go. Cheers! --Fabrictramp | talk to me 19:40, 27 March 2010 (UTC)
I saw your redirect to International Talk Like a Pirate Day. I reverted it back to a the A10 because it does not add any substance to the original article and it is not a title that someone would search on to find the topic in the English version of Wikipedia. My best to you. ttonyb (talk) 19:26, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
- I'm fine with that, must've missed your speedy tag. De728631 (talk) 19:28, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
Being bold is one thing, but re-moving an article without discussion on the talk page and if there is not consensus for the move without putting in a requested move is disruptive. Likewise reverting to a version of an article (with some additions), which is the result of changes you have made to the article, without discussing the changes on the talk page of the article is also disruptive.[Revision history of Zieten Hussars] -- PBS (talk) 05:41, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi there De728631 :), I noticed your username on Translators Available German to English. I was wondering if you could help with updating Riaz Ahmed Gohar Shahi on the German Wikipedia? Hello De728631. Hi, I created the site but would like it deleted as the tile is wrong, unless you can change the title? If so then I will redo the article appropriately to wikipedia's standards. If the title can't be redone no worries, can you please delete so I can start over and do it correctly? Thank you!
Okay I get what you're saying but I don't think you get what I'm saying. The page I created I didn't do correctly because I need it to be deleted.
If you determine this isn't a criteria of notability (which I would argue that it is) then...

Coat of arms vs. emblem
Some of the emblems are under coat of arms, yes, but that is a mistake made by the original author. Many of emblems have been retitled accordingly, while others still need to be. This is not a coat of arms; please see Coat of arms to see what constitutes one. Wikipedia should not perpetuate errors in terminology, especially simply because this area of study and the differences in terminology are little understood by the masses. [tk] XANDERLIPTAK 23:16, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
- I am not too familiar with moving aticles, so my apologies for not doing so properly. Half of th earticles seem to be properly labeled, while the other half are incorrectly labeled, so it seems to be an error on only some of the creators parts. I do not think common use applies here because there are clear guidlines that distinguish a coat fo arms, and because heraldry is not something commonly understood by the masses and thus not something commonly known. So I would like to correct the terms before Wikipedia helps spread the misknowledge and confuses more individuals. [tk] XANDERLIPTAK 23:03, 24 April 2010 (UTC)
Swissôtel The Howard
I entirely agree with your {{prod}} of Swissôtel The Howard and the reasoning behind it—I think it's a completely non-notable branch of a chain, and "5 star" hotel is meaningless in a British context as Britain is not a member of any of the hotel-rating systems and thus "star ratings" are purely self-certification by the hotels' marketing departments. However, be aware that when I proposed it (and the rest of that series) for deletion previously, it prompted an extremely bad-tempered discussion, so you may well get more of the same. (As it's already had a prod contested, technically it should now go to AFD as articles aren't supposed to be prodded twice.) – iridescent 15:24, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

About the recent edits of Rohan by me, rev. by Ckatz and your rearrangement: I think the links I have originally supplied to most words of OE origin were quite helpful, but I would like to know what you think. It takes some time to add them separately, so I don't want to do it and end up with another revert and I don't want to just revert to my edit, because I'd delete your final edit. You have reinstated one of the links as a reference, but if I add the links to multiple words this way, the ref. section would grow considerably. Any suggestions? Thanks! - Then perhaps the phrase "contains no meaningful content" should be changed in the template and the definition because to me someone's personal list of musicians is not very meaningful in an encyclopedical context. That's why I used that template. As to redirecting, I don't object to it and it's surely better than deletion but the title "Greatest singers of all time" still looks very biased. I did give a quote, which always stops these types in their tracks, then I went over to to nobility project and asked some people to take a look at the article, though under my IP. I find it is much easier to agree with such types than to argue, nod your head and then explain that what they want comes at a truly princely rate. Deleting the Medal of Honor image from infoboxes
I noticed that you deleted the Medal of Honor image from the Infobox of a couple of Medal of Honor recipients and I have reverted them for know. There is longstanding precedence for allowing this image and if you want to change that I ask you to please get consensus first since it is relevant to literally hundreds of articles. I personally don't have a preference either way I just want to avoid a bunch of unnecessary reverts and confrontations between various editors with differing good intentions. This article is about the mountain, not the game.
Although I agree that adaptations are important, I believe it is both innapropriate and irrelevant to give so much detail about the game in this case. This page is about the lonely mountain, and while some explanation is necassary, a complete manifesto of the rules of the whole game makes that section not relevant to the article. Surely just a quick explanation of the game is enough, not a large paragraph? If it is that important, why not make a whole new page about the game?

The Sign of the Moon
I don't know much about the book myself. I can't find much information about it either. It's not even confirmed for sure that The Sign of the Moon is going to be the name of the fourth Omen of the Stars book. So maybe it's for the best that it be deleted. Carlene M (talk) 18:09, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

What's wrong with this article? It could be improved upon, you know, rather than being deleted, since it is a stub and all. Expand it first before marking it as meeting the CSD. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 20:12, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

The Video Blues Band or VBB
De728631
Good day to you my friend. I contribute under the name Blind Lemon Pledge, a somewhat distant reference to the old Mississippi Delta (USA) musician, Blind Lemon Jefferson. I also played in the VBB. A history of the home US video industry is in the process of being written and an important aspect of the industry was the Video Software Dealers Association. The VSDA has held annual conventions since 1984 and the social events have always been a major avenue for industry networking. The sponsored social events have always served to get folks together to discuss business in a relaxed setting. The VBB and their annual show at these conventions quickly became one of the prime events for socializing and business related discussions. If you would kindly reference Facebook and the Video Blues Band or VBB, you will be able to see what I am talking about. I plan to continue to add new material to the VBB Wikipedia reference and upload visual references as well. Please allow this important article to stay on Wikepedia. Thanking you in advance- Blind Lemon Pledge —Preceding unsigned comment added by Blind Lemon Pledge (talk • contribs) 15:23, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

keserman here,to let you know that i will create the article again,if i get reason, but, alas,i admit defeat, and close out of the fight for the recreation of the article merwin hulbert and company.also, you have worked on my side on the article new harbour, newfoundland and labrador, editing.thank you.Keserman (talk) 21:28, 12 July 2010 (UTC)
merwin hulbert and company
i may not recreate for sure.and i believe i had a reference.merwin hulbert and co. became defunct in 1891,so the historical value is valuable on wikipedia.but they have been recreated this year,so are an existing company.with this recreation comes a website,my reference.thanks,Keserman (talk) 21:46, 12 July 2010 (UTC)

THIS MAY GET LENGTHY,BUT PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING!
since you have done editing on new harbour, newfoundland and labrador,of which i am creator, and probably major editor and caregiver,as you probably know by now,and i am farmiliar with you from other stuff,i give you and another a message regarding the following.i must tell you, that,as i said in a direct note to page visitors,on the article, which i can edit as the process progresses, and remove when the process is complete, the note says something along the lines of the below information.
i now admit to it having some unreferenced information in the article,BUT the above mentioned "process" includes a time of going over it,adding,or at least trying to add,in case it is temporarily nessecary not to,only referenced information, trying to reference information, and,if forced to,remove unreferenced information.it seems others only edit minorly,so mass removal should not be a problem.i want to sort of keep mass editing to myself,at least for this process,as interference could give me more information to sort.i want to maximize the amount of available information, but i would like to reference information as well.this process,as long as it may seem, may be over before july 20,2010,at least in my time zone hahahahaha, perhaps earlier, even july 16-18.please do not remove the note, which something along those lines is on the note,or please do not majorly edit it,and doing those things, you are probably helping maximize the article's quality.
i will not keep you informed all the time,bu since i sort of know kou from other things, you previously edited, and this is very important,so i treated this as a case you really should know about.i wasn't exactly going to let you know what i am doing all the time.as to your note, thanks, agreed, but i probably will add the maximum completion date,so the don't just, well, interrupt before it's finished,by honest mistake of thinking it's finished, when it's actually not.cheers,keserman. new harbour referencing
keserman here, you said that i have to provide a direct link to the physician's claim about brain tumors and such.forgive me,but i know seemingly surprisingly little about editing, but enough to be a good editor and expander,if not a good referencer, but i am trying to learn at times, but this article keeps me busy.forgive me for this mistake, but one thing:could you say to me/explain to me what providing a direct link to the information such as the physician's brain tumors is,or how to correctly reference information,or list references,or reccomend a help page or something that could explain.sorry for the reference mmistake, and postscript:please,if you can remember, put it in a new section on my talk page, messages sort of get to me better.cheers,Keserman (talk) 11:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
new harbour economy.
if you are not the wikipedian who changed the section ticle of new harbour's section on stores, never mind.but if you did, please read this outline, then read the message i have left on the talk page.to outline:the section was meant to list and very briefly describe the retail establishments, including the doctor, who sort of fits the section.these do not form the economy in whole, but yes,are certainly part of it.however,if you can find the external information, reference it,and add it in a new section, the way new harbour's and near communities' stores, the fish plants(not a retail establishment open to the general local public),work in the city provincial capital and its area, old age pensions and such, social services payments, and that people may or may not work in nearby schools, the spending cycle of this money at stores to be in part passed on to workers, owners, then citizens paying taxes, companies purchasing fish from fish plants, and any other way how money is cycled through new harbour, perhaps update on how economy is doing,or any way to relate to the whole economy, feel free to add that section.but note that the information is probably not available on the internet.cheers,Keserman (talk) 12:30, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

hello, I just noticed you edited my contribution on Gackts MARS Sora Kara no Homonsha: Kaisō tour. Well, it's not an audio album (that one is covered in Platinum Box I) but the actual tour. Just wanted to let you know, that I re-edited it to it's former version.

well, well, sorry for the mistake.well, perhaps individual stores are not notable, but i will edit, and try to summaize it better.,perhaps you should take a look after.i was thinking of expanding it,and still will, really, but, well, what else?well, when a community gets so small, perhaps a more summarized description is notable to a point.thanks,Keserman (talk) 17:28, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
as to my last message,i would like to let you know that this was a "community message",to all of editing, almost, but this response from you to me is "man to man",so to speak, and therefore,if you can remember,in the future,i would still like a personal response to be left on my talk page,in the form of a new section,i will know what you are talking about.i automatically check there, but well, just that.it is easir realy for me to find and process.thanks,Keserman (talk) 17:36, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
response under "your request for editing help" on my talk page/new harbour.
it may be my turn to apologize for possibly sounding harsh.as to what you said, which sorry to bug you again on the matter, would have been appreciated in a new section, was a little mis-worded,or at least sounded like that to me.i did not tell the wikipedia editing community that they had better leave the article alone, but rather said i would (have) like(d) to discourage major editing and expansion.i did not think it was a re-worded "you had better not touch it" or something.perhaps i was not fully polite about it,sorry, but i was not fully impolite about it.and yes,it is not my personal project, but it was with the intention of improving the article, and now that i think about it,major expanison, unless referenced, gives more information to reference, slowing the project.but in my defense,i know how to find and list references,if not listed correctly, and connected with the information.after referencing, that help is appreciated.you may have been a little harsh, but it included an apology, which i accept.no hard feelings, thanks for all your help.postscript:the renaming of that section to "buisness"is accepted by me.as well of your summarizing of the section.i added some information, also fitting it.thanks. cheers,Keserman (talk) 18:05, 16 July 2010 (UTC)

To Mr Person, I would like to know whether you have deleted the Wikipedia page on Connor Wilkinson, by CrucialCoconut. If this is the case, I would like to have a reason why, as I have, for the second time, gone onto your Editing Policies, your pages on Conflicts of Interest, Editing, Vandalism on pages, and the page on the five pillars of Wikipedia, and on none of these I can see any reason for you to have deleted the concerned page, or even put it up for deletion. I am speaking to you as you are the user who posted the comment on the page, but if there is someone else who might be more knowledgeable, please put me forward to him/her.

Noq
Excuse me!!! I have filed a complaint against Noq for harrassing me all frigging day and I am being warned - best explain yourself on that one please as that sumbitch has been constantly up in my ass all day about the article I wrote last night. Every time I tried to save an edit - he had already posted some bullshit to fuck up my edits a screw with me over a WP:IDONTKNOW viewpoint regarding said article. Yes, I am pissed because Mr Civility award doesn't earn squat in my book for being a nuisance and a general pain in the ass.
I contribute daily to Wikipedia and do not deserve to be treated like a a piece of crap by someone thinking they are a British lord - Remember America bailed their butts out of two wars after we kicked their asses in two previous wars - at least the French gave us a statue - the Brits can't even spell right.
I am so goddamned pissed about his constant interruptions that, I am about ready to say "fuck it" and delete the frigging article altogether. I write for enjoyment and to help people - when I get jackasses like this, it REALLY makes you want to stay away from the requested articles page and not write to help people with their requests for articles.
Mind you, I am not pissed at you but I truly needed to vent this out at someone neutral because this lil bugger has gotten under my skin after being a pest all freakin day and now I am in no mood to hear crap about vulgarities as I am a firm believer that bullshit needs to be called bullshit when it is present.

Alexai Field
Sorry to criticize your efforts but you are severely mistaken by assuming that Casco Field on Attu is the same as Alexai Field. Look at Google maps and look about 4 miles to the east of Casco Field (coordinates - 52.821964,173.298504) - look very closely, there lies the faint remains of Alexai Field.
- Reviewing the history of Attu and the World War Two battle, there were actually four airfields plus a seaplane base in Massacre Bay on the island. A Japanese airfield was built just off the East Arm of Holtz Bay. After the American landings at Austin Cove and Red Beach, an American airstrip was constructed off the West Arm of Holtz Bay after it was determined that the Japanese field was insufficient to American needs. Casco Field in what is now Attu Air Station and lastly Alexai Point Field. In addition to the airfields, there was/is a radar tower camouflaged as a water tower on Murder Point just south of the boundaries of Attu Air Station and the original location of the LORAN station at Theodore Point across Temnac Bay located about 15 miles SW of the air station. Each airfield and installation has a unique history and should be (according to the Military Project) given their own separate article with the appropriate infobox as combining them all into one article is both confusing and misleading. For historical accuracy, once the data can be found, the individual Inuit villages that existed before the Japanese invasion as well as the important geological locations (such as Red Beach, Austin Cove, Chichagof Harbor, Fishhook Ridge and Clevesy Pass) should be written about individually as important geological features of the island. I am in the process of gathering information on the Aleutian Islands and the various WWII facilities that existed throughout Alaska and the islands in support of the "secret war" and later Cold War operations.

Tokyo Trading
And last but not least, this is the English speaking Wiki where all conversation should be in English. De728631 (talk) 17:45, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
- Na dann warte ich mal ab was geschieht.
may need a favour/opinion,new harbour. also,merwin hulbert.
hello there!keserman here, not to always keep you informed, but you may want to correct me and i may want to know if i made any mistake, not likely though,or want an opinion.first,on the article new harbour, newfoundland and labrador, there is no section on the island it its harbour, new harbour island,as of now,but i want to create one.i had an article on it,but rewrote the info on the page of its community, figuring it belongs there due to lack of extreme notability, and it being in new harbour (new harbour harbour, really),and want a section,so i will look for references, and try to put a section on it.secondly,i have heard that there is another municipality in our province called new harbour, but only from face-to-face spoken conversation.i should try to verify this, and that it is not in the same bay,and move the article,so that they may be distinguished, but further info seems unavailable on this other new harbour,so i may move the page i created, then stop, but if i can get information on this other new harbour,i may create and build a page on it.just you may want to keep an eye out for changes, and help me if i make mistake(s).thirdly and lastly, since i have learned how to better reference articles,i may seek to recreate the merwin hulbert and company article.if you again see fit to support deletion, let me know, and i remind you that if this happens,i dispute/argue/object with respect and in a calm and civil manner.but i would think it better for you to point out reasons for support of deletion, before you rush to act on this support, and i can hopefully fix the problem.thank you for your anticipated understanding/co-operation,Keserman (talk) 18:20, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
new harbour/merwin hulbert.
keserman again,i should get at the work i mentioned sometime today, likely finished today, unless difficulty comes up or my computer time is cut short, perhaps finishing tommorow.but the island new harbour island may need individual references, because i do not know of any references to the community that include the island, but when it had a page of its own, before i saw fit to rewrite it on the new harbour page, somebody or some people found references.so i should be able to reference it.so if no references are present, especially for a whole section of notable length,it can be "challenged and removed" or so i read a fair amount.so i would try to reference it individually.but perhaps i should ask a quick opinion from you:i can try to reference it before putting it on articles, but as a message from wikipedian to wikipedian,i can use personal knowlege as suitable.new harbour island is a small island in the harbour of its community, big enough for perhaps two average size houses, for space/size comparison, rather unsuitable campground, probably risky at high tide to try to access in a speedboat, perhaps almost impossible with any craft larger, there is no place like a wharf/dock to secure small craft, mostly a visit to look at in calm harbour conditions in a pondboat or something, and perhaps just an obsticle for watercraft entering and exiting the harbour.would you consider that material for its own page or material for its community's article in a section?i suspect you will go with the latter, but i could be wrong.as to merwin hulbert,i may not finish it until tommorrow, but i will give it a try....perhaps in that my page thing before moving into article space...but that may not be needed for this.well, this is getting too long...thanks and cheers, keserman. Keserman (talk) 11:12, 26 July 2010 (UTC)
new harbour x 2
sorry to bother you again, but as to there being another new harbour in my province, references look bleak.however,i would be led to beleive that it is not in the same bay,and the bay can be properly used as a proper part of the address,so i will move it to include the bay,and this should help it.cheers,Keserman (talk) 11:24, 26 July 2010 (UTC)

KEEP ON RUNNING
I wonder what sort of consistancy in mind that leads to nominating my (brief yet substantial) article on the topic ["Keep on Running" (Jackie Edwards song)] for deletion and redirection of the string to an article ["Keep on Running" (The Spencer Davis Group song)by motivating it with the words " He just wrote the song-article on the topic already existing " -?? " He just wrote the song " !!! Yes excactly-that´s just what he did !-and recorded it too, in 1965 for Island Records, same year as SDG did their COVER version in november also for Island Records. This is excactly why i´d like to put up an article on the song in it´s one and only original version by it´s creator, and not about a one in many COVER versions. The existing article is practically a non-article, mainly airing the misconception that the song is a product of their creativity(hence the title, attaching the groups name to the songs title),and throwing up irrelevant trivia about it´s appearance in 80´s movies.Stressing the point that " He just wrote the song " is an almost hilarious anti-argumentation for keeping the article out of an encyclopedia and the fact that there´s already existing a partly erronous and irrelevant article on a cover version hardly makes much more of a point other than,at best, emphasising that theese are two different topics and need each their article covering them.I´d like to think of wikipedia as a forum for clarity and objectiveness rather than a playground for dedicated fans obstructing general approach to information by editing and posting countless bias tributes disguised as articles. Can I expect my article being back up in the nearest future.? AJAX Document and Image Viewer
I understand this article is marked for deletion as it is deemed to be commercial in nature - that was not my intent. AJAX viewers are a product manufactured and distributed by several commercial entities - and I don't believe my prose steers one toward any one offering in particular. I have just tried to create an entry about the application in objective terms.Spasho (talk) 15:12, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- Spasho, The issue I see with regard to this subject matter is that it does not appear to meet our general notability guidelines, making it unsuitable for inclusion. The notion of a commercial connection may have come from the fact that two of the only three references came from one particular company's websites. - CobaltBlueTony™ talk 15:27, 29 July 2010 (UTC)
- That, and one of those sites was moreover called something like "10 reasons why to use AJAX Document and Image Viewer", which I found too spammy. De728631 (talk) 15:31, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Eri (goddess)
"That's a nice start, but I wonder if you could've been writing about Ériu? If so, we should better merge your content into the old article." No; I was indeed not talking about Ériu. Eri is a completely different mythological figure. A huge mistake was made, saying that Ériu was the mother of Bres, when in fact it's Eri is the mother of Bres. Ériu gave her name to Ireland. I had to correct it! Piarsaigh (talk) 23:19, 29 July 2010 (UTC)

Neil Costello
Just a quick note that Neil Costello was a clear WP:CSD#G10 (attack page). Although I've deleted it, tagging it as an attack makes it show up at Category:Candidates_for_speedy_deletion_as_attack_pages#Pages which is watched pretty closely. Regards, matt (talk) 17:05, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- I didn't find it offensive in the first place, it was full of slang and surely non-notable but at a quick look it didn't seem disparaging to me. That's why I went only for A7. De728631 (talk) 17:08, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I'm not going to quote anything attacking from the article, but there was plenty of WP:BLP-violating stuff in there, but an equal amount of non-notable material ("Costello is a ledge at platstation games. He even once got 25 kills in search and destroy", etc.). No worries, everyone's view of offensive material varies anyway. Either way it's gone! Cheers, matt (talk) 18:38, 4 August 2010 (UTC)

EventManager
Thanks very much for tidying up our article.
I see that the article is tagged as "may not meet the general notability guideline. Please help to establish notability by adding reliable, secondary sources about the topic." Would appreciate advice on that as we added two independent and good quality sources as references - both verifiable through web links. Is there something we can do to strengthen that? We could, for example, list the URLs of live installations of EventManager (mostly UK government URLs)?
Thanks again. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kenthouse (talk • contribs) 10:40, 16 August 2010 (UTC)
Thnaks for your further feedback. As suggested, I have changed username to Kevinthegerbil55, though the system hasn't yet fully caught up. I have also cited a third good-quality reference (news magazine published by Keele University). I'm hoping that references from a University, a well-known international publisher (Taschen), and The British Journal of Healthcare Computing will be enough to establish reasonable notability? Fingers crossed. Kenthouse (talk) 14:07, 23 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me. I'll ask you another thing; yesterday Melodic.net was deleted. As for Kludge Magazine, Melodic.net is used as source by Billboard, PureVolume, AbsolutePunk, Chacha.com, BizShark [4] [5] [6] [7]. So the article meet WP:NME. Melodic.net is also the Europe's leading webzine for modern rock and it is founded by Pär Winberg which has worked with EMI, A&R, The Real Group, Robert Wells (composer) among others. [8]. Can I restored the article?--Strawberry Slugs (talk) 23:21, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
- Actually most of the links above are just directories and don't qualify as reliable and suitable sources. Purevolume might work but that is just one single source. And websites have special requirements that differ from WP:NME, see Wikipedia:Notability (web). Moreover I don't think that melodic.net is notable enough to have an article. If you still would like to have the article restored, you'd have to convince an admin to revive it, I can't do that anyway. De728631 (talk) 23:31, 21 August 2010 (UTC)

OK, so I moved al the content across and redirected Kabupaten Lombok Tengah to Central Lombok Regency. So who set these up? Does anyone have a Lambang Kabupaten Lombok Utara (that is the shield or crest) for the regency. I also noted that the geo coords were a little off, in the sea to the north of Sumbawa I think. Where did the population stats buried in the info panel come from, they are not referenced so it is hard to know if they are up to date or not. Speedy deletion declined: Alderon Resource Corp
Hello De728631. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Alderon Resource Corp, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Publicly traded company is probably important enough to satisfy A7. Try WP:PROD or WP:AfD instead. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 21:40, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Please read Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies). Simply being on the stock market is absolutely not sufficient to establish notability. We need non-trivial coverage. For other reasons, please see my prod summary on the page. De728631 (talk) 21:47, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- I agree with you that being traded on an exchange doesn't make a company notable, but the standard for speedy deletion under A7 is quite a bit lower: "The criterion does not apply to any article that makes any credible claim of significance or importance." — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 21:52, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've seen such sites being speedily deleted before. Anyhow, it's prodded now. De728631 (talk) 21:56, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Who made you the police?
If there are no fan pages allowed on Wiki, why is Ellen Brundige's essay on Legolas allowed on his Wiki entry? This seems unfair. So, if I write about Pippin in essay form my link may be included? Why is Wiki policed by you people who do not understand LotR fandom?
http://www.istad.org/tolkien/legolas.html
I don't appreciate your threats to "blacklist" my domain, simply because you are an elderly man who has nothing better to do than deny younger fans positive Tolkien fan-pages, by "blacklisting" them. I am the only one posting that link, because it is my site. The link is peregrintook.com, for crying out loud, it is a hub for all fans of the character. For you to consistently deny it and seek to ban me from this site seems to me not only childish but also unfair to the world and writings of J.R.R Tolkien. You are not the Tolkien Estate.

- Thanks for pointing that link out, I've removed it from the Legolas article. Carl Sixsmith (talk) 19:17, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
- The only one acting childish and pouty on this matter is you, Matthew. You've repeatedly been pointed at WP:FANSITE, a policy that was not introduced by me but by the overall community of Wikipedia editors. And I could as well report you for calling me names on my talk page but I'm in a good mood today. As to fandom, I'm a great LotR fan (and I'm sure that applies to Carl as well). But Wikipedia is not the place to spread fandom, that's why the Brundige essay has been removed too. De728631 (talk) 20:05, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- Perhaps Matthew would be better using this site http://lotr.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page. It's more fan centric than wikipedia, although a little too tied in to the film adaptations for my liking. Carl Sixsmith (talk) 20:09, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- That looks like a good option indeed. De728631 (talk) 20:18, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've seen that site, I rather like it. I think the fact that Wikipedia does not allow innocent fan pages with correct information on its subject to be posted is a shame and my main issue stems from the fact that Wiki has watchdogs like you constantly patrolling the whole Tolkien mythology. Again, you aren't the Tolkien Estate, so I do not see why you feel the need to edit out a fan page, even if it is against Wiki's rules. Who is it hurting? Nonetheless, this is only going in circles at this point. Mmontelione (talk)
- The problem with fan pages is that we never know if they are actually correct or rather fancruft (not to mention fan fiction). And as the name fan site implies, they are not neutral but biased. That's why we generally don't link to fan sites. De728631 (talk) 20:05, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for taking the time to explain the background of the current events in MVP. I now have a better understanding of the political situation there and how it relates to Germany’s tragic past. One observation that I would like to make regarding the You-Tube clips of the marches in Demmin, in my opinion the young people in those public demonstrations may be the target of police surveillance. Using the lighthouse icon for lighthouse push pin maps
I don't like the lighthouse icon , it is too large, covering the map, so I never use it. The template documentation allows all three icons, so I guess it is a matter of taste. I see you changed one of the articles I wrote, Shark Island Light, to use the lighthouse icon, and I will not revert it since it's not that important. Just letting you know before you storm and replace it in the other 50ish articles. Perhaps we should agree on the standard in Template Talk:infobox lighthouse. --Muhandes (talk) 22:22, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
- If there should be a standard, why can we even choose the pushpin? And I don't think it's too large. The base of the lighthouse icon is put on the coordinates in the map and using icons is standard cartographic custom. De728631 (talk) 20:10, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's a matter of taste. I don't object to setting a standard (thus eliminating the other options in the process) but until a standard is set I think it remains a matter of taste for every editor to choose. --Muhandes (talk) 16:52, 11 September 2010 (UTC)

This article really shouldn't have been proposed for speedy deletion under db-spam. It's got a lot of WP:Peacock prose, and the subject's notability is questionable, but that's not WP:SPAM. Thanks, Nanodance (talk) 14:21, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

A discussion has begun about whether the article Hermann Fegelein (parody), which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hermann Fegelein (parody) until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.
You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. — Jeff G. ツ 23:33, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

(I ask in relation to Grundtvig and the meaning of the poem given the politics of the early and mid-nineteenth century.) Thanks, Drmies (talk) 19:52, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hoi, Drmies. I'm sorry but I've never read the poem. I think I've only read some Beowulf prose tale for children in German but that was like 20 years ago and I'm sure it didn't contain any political comments. As a Tolkienist though I'd point you at [[Beowulf: The Monsters and the Critics]´], wherein JRRT argues that the poem should not merely be taken as an historical account of Anglosaxon lore but should be seen as a work of art. So that implies that traditional literature criticism in the first half of the 20th century even was still taking Beowulf as a historical document. De728631 (talk) 20:14, 28 September 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks De. Yes, I just got done rereading Tolkien's essay. He doesn't have much to say on the Danish topic, though, but I read in the most recent Klaeber that the poem had a role to play in the Dano-Prussian wars--your neck of the woods! But I guess that was all in the past by the time you were in school. Anyway, thanks again for your note, and as for Beowulf--I'm going to quiz you next week on the first 1800 lines! Blocking Me?
I don't spend much time on Wikipedia, I'm not a regular editor, but I come on today, edit a link that a client tells me about today that somebody else clearly left some time ago to our website, which was less clear than what I left, and you delete the link and block me in aobut 5 seconds! OK, so you are the self appointed police and you don't like the link. I couldn't care less. But you block me, call me a sloth (that is a deadly sin), and now I can't edit a clear error elsewhere on the subject of Mathew Brady. That's enough to turn me off from bothering to contirbute my expertise to any of these subjects, which is considerable. Rmcmahanjr (talk) 05:09, 30 September 2010 (UTC)rmcmahanjr Robert McMahan
- And what exactly are you talking about? I don't know you and I can't even have blocked you because I'm not an administrator. And your account Rmcmahanjr is obviously not blocked. De728631 (talk) 17:55, 30 September 2010 (UTC)
Redirects
Thanks for your diligence and action - it was a slip of the mouse/brain, and I realised my error shortly after you did.PeterWD (talk) 19:22, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
How can I put myself right?
Look, how can I explain, I'm not an editor, I am just an ordinary user, I've been using wikipedia for five long years now, but I've only registered 2 or 3 years ago I think... I don't like making articles, but when I want to open a topic that may be interesting to someone I just do it! Yeah, I took some parts of the german version here and there, even though I don't speak german, but I've also tried to make the page look normal compared to other bands pages, because my moto is "Do it good or don't do it at all!", so I don't really think about the rules of your encyclopedia, because I don't often have to obey them (As an ordinary reader) and I don't think it will take less than a day to memorize all big and small rules that you have here, so I just don't bother doing it... I've had my own website and forum before so I understand that autogenerated messages have replaced tet-a-tet speaking, but sometimes the text of these messages is obviously controversal and is obviously not connected to the website's policies... Yeah, De likes to police pages. It's just what he does. Rather annoying, methinks. (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 02:19, 30 October 2010 (UTC).
- Maybe you should've read what I wrote on Pantamorph's page. You'd be surprised but policing pages also includes removing unjustified deletion requests and saving articles from deletion. De728631 (talk) 18:39, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
Hello DE, nice meeting you and thanks for the redirect. You must have the fastest fingers here in our neck of the wood.:-) I was just about to insert the infobox but I noticed you already did.:-) I hope you don't mind that I changed the infobox, because of the "Rating" thing. I do not know how yours work. I tried, but couldn't find out.:-) So I replaced it with the one I am familiar with. Thanks again and cheers. Fusion is the future (talk) 20:42, 30 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hi there. Of course we two used the same template but WP:ALBUM has apparently decided that ratings should no longer be presented in the infobox. So while the parameter still exists they've struck it from the blank code that can be copied and pasted from the template documentation page. I'm strictly against leaving ratings out of the infobox, as I wrote on the template talk page, but there seems to be a consensus at WP:ALBUM to rather use {{album ratings}} in addition to the infobox. That said, I don't see need to change that at Blue Prince for now. De728631 (talk) 12:58, 31 October 2010 (UTC)
Editor de Texto Enriquecido
Hello.
I'm sorry for that. It wasn't my intention to create this page here. I know about the Online rich-text editor page. The thing is: I was just translating the page, because I wanted to add it to the Wikipedia in Portuguese (something that I managed to do), and unintentionally created it here too. So I certainly agree with the speedy deletion.
See ya :) Rdeitz (talk) 14:09, 3 November 2010 (UTC)
Um...silly question, but...
...any reason for the change of category here? Grutness...wha? 06:56, 29 November 2010 (UTC)
- Actually... no. I'm also clueless why I put that into Germany stubs. Thanks for fixing that. De728631 (talk) 22:02, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Frisian church
I took care of your request on translation of the Frisian church after merging with the main article and creating the redirect. --Alberto Fernandez Fernandez (talk) 17:05, 5 December 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot, I had already suspected that this church had had its article before. De728631 (talk) 15:34, 6 December 2010 (UTC)
Bored of the Rings
FWIW, the only reason I went as extreme as the removal of the entire section was because the article had been tagged for lacking sourcing for over 2 years, and editors were continuing to add to that section while still not adding sources. Glad to see the situation's being rectified! Doniago (talk) 01:48, 17 December 2010 (UTC)
New editor
If I think I can edit wiki ;), but I'm not so sure about how to "talk" to the Wikipedians. :(
I will try to better edit the Quenya and Sindarin article, and not bit by bit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.54.1.73 (talk) 00:17, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
