Information icon Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to Major League Cricket. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 15:59, 6 June 2023 (UTC)

Flags!

Hi. It's essential we don't just use flags in tables - and that we think really carefully about the use of flags in general. In the past there's been some pretty awful ways that team squad tables have been set up and we need to take care not to replicate those problems. Can I suggest you make sure you're familiar with MOS:FLAGS as a starting point. Thanks. Blue Square Thing (talk) 16:33, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

About fair use policy

Can you please teach me how to upload media under fair use policy, searched everywhere not found anything hope you can help me. Godknowme1 (talk) 04:14, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Hey Godknowme1, I too had trouble with it at first since there is no information on how to do this. If the media is to be uploaded for fair use you can upload it locally on Wikipedia rather than commons.
In desktop view, on the left side of the screen there is a section called 'contribute' which has an option of upload file. This takes you to an interface which gives you choice to upload a 'non-free file', there are three steps in this process. Step 1 and step 2 is just naming and describing the media.
In step 3, you gotta select the apt option, in this case the second one. This opens up a window for you to give info about which page it'll be used in and the source etc. Cric editor (talk) 09:06, 14 January 2024 (UTC)

Notice

The file File:2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup logo.svg has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the file should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 3 February 2024 (UTC)

Vanuatu > Super 6?

In the current "Division 3/New countries" playoff cricket tournament, do you have a source which says run-rate takes priority over Head-to-head? If not, then surely Vanuatu go into the Super Six, not Malaysia. --DLMcN (talk) 08:35, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

The advancing of teams into Super six is solely based on the group-wise standings afaik. this [1] ICC article also states the top 3 of each group advances into the Super Six. If its the case of head-to -head based qualifying like you said, the changes can be made once the ICC or other firm sources confirm. Cric editor (talk) 08:43, 26 February 2024 (UTC)

Ammar Khalid moved to draftspace

Thanks for your contributions to Ammar Khalid. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 04:16, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Hello! While reviewing this article, I noticed that all of the sources were databases and passing mentions. It's important that there are multiple sources that give significant coverage to the subject. I draftified the article instead of nominating it for deletion because I think you might be able to find a few sources like that. I added one that I found under the external links. Feel free to move the article back to its original title if you find more. Thebiguglyalien (talk) 04:18, 29 February 2024 (UTC)
I've added a two or three new references I could fine, and the source cited by you in the external link may not fit in because it wasnt even a List A match nor was a part of any ICC pathway tournaments. There have been so many articles of ODI players which have general references without even slight mention of the player, I don't get how they survive! Anyways, I'll add a section about his franchise career which has some coverage. Cric editor (talk) 05:34, 29 February 2024 (UTC)

Replaceable non-free use File:2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifier logo.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:2024 ICC Women's T20 World Cup qualifier logo.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 10:00, 15 May 2024 (UTC)
