Question from Digital.Writers (14:21, 26 July 2024)

[edit]

Where I should put link in the edit article or post ? --Digital.Writers (talk) 14:21, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Digital.Writers I'm not sure I understand your question, but do not add unrelated external links to articles, like you did here. Doing so may be considered promotion and is prohibited. User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 14:23, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ok I'll remember it for next time Digital.Writers (talk) 14:30, 26 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Page mover granted

[edit]

Hello, CanonNi. Your account has been granted the "extendedmover" user right, either following a request for it or demonstrating familiarity with working with article names and moving pages. You are now able to rename pages without leaving behind a redirect, move subpages when moving the parent page(s), and move category pages.

Please take a moment to review Wikipedia:Page mover for more information on this user right, especially the criteria for moving pages without leaving a redirect. Please remember to follow post-move cleanup procedures and make link corrections where necessary, including broken double-redirects when suppressredirect is used. This can be done using Special:WhatLinksHere. It is also very important that no one else be allowed to access your account, so you should consider taking a few moments to secure your password. As with all user rights, be aware that if abused, or used in controversial ways without consensus, your page mover status can be revoked.

If you do not want the page mover right anymore, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Thank you, and happy editing! Elli (talk | contribs) 21:12, 27 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Elli thank you! User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 01:43, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're very welcome :) Do let me know if you have any questions about the permission, though I think things should be pretty straightforward. Elli (talk | contribs) 02:12, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question from AlphaSigmas (04:45, 28 July 2024)

[edit]

How do you edit properly? --AlphaSigmas (talk) 04:45, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@AlphaSigmas that's a broad question, kinda like "How do you build a house"? There are many parts to editing properly, but in general, you should follow relevant policies and guidelines, as well as the Manual of Style, where applicable. Do you have a specific page you need help with? User:CanonNi (talkcontribs) 07:58, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Question about tags and draftspace

[edit]

Hello @CanonNi!

I see that you removed stub and BLP tags from my draft article. Is there a reference for how these tags should only be used in mainspace and not in draftspace? I have checked the page on drafts and on tagging and I don't see it specified there.

Since Wikipedia search doesn't return draftspace articles by default, I don't see the harm in including those tags in the draft article. Having a ready-to-publish version of the article in draftspace, with all necessary tags, makes more sense in my opinion.

Happy to learn more.

Regards,

I asked this question at the Teahouse and have a better understanding! Thank you! CoolAndUniqueUsername (talk) 17:00, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Responding at WP:EFFP

[edit]

Before adding a comment of r, please actually make sure the added individual doesn't already have an article. In the request you answered about Mt. Whitney High School, the individual in question is Ken Khachigian, who does have one. Animal lover |666| 19:02, 28 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
