Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

• Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.

Request reason:

I only realized after being blocked that I was not allowed to have a username related to the articles I wrote, and since I am new to wikipedia I had decided to use as username the title of the first article I would write; this led to me being blocked straight away. This is why I want to change my username to something else so that I can continue editing and writing articles now that I have free time during the summer. Note also that everything I have written is legitimate and referable, which means that I didn't promote or do anything like spam, since I am still a student. Please change my username now that I have understood and unblock me. Also, the subject I have written on (I only had time to write one article before getting blocked) is a notable subject, I have heard of this company after seeing the product in the supermarket and researched it but there was no wiki article (even though there were many references on the web and newspapers) so I decided to be the first and even named my username as such for the honor of it being my first article. I hope you can understand this. Thanks!

Here are a few key questions:

• Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
• Do you understand conflict of interest?
• Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?
