A tag has been placed on Fullcodepress, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Mattinbgn\ talk 12:10, 15 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ben and thank you for your message. I am not an administrator and therefore I cannot delete (or restore) articles. I merely nominated it for deletion as it read to me at the time like a promotion for an event and it had no independent, reliable sources to back up its claim for notability (note the requirement for independent sources). An administrator Graham87 (talk · contribs) obviously read my nomination and agreed with it.
Being not for profit does not mean that Wikipedia can be used to promote your events and not for profit bodies advertise all the time. You are right, I have read the criteria for speedy deletion several times and I am aware of its content. If I removed the self promotional content from the article and all information not independently sourced there would have been nothing left to save.
If you wish to have the decision to delete reviewed, you can take your case to deletion review. I will leave the standard welcome message after this message. I suggest you take the opportunity to familiarise yourself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. In particular, this guideline may be useful to help you avoid having articles deleted as spam in the future. Happy editing. Cheers, Mattinbgn\ talk 23:54, 16 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
