Moved from userpage
Hi! I think this is how I post to your talk page. I guess that kind of proves my point... you are on the Adopter list and I really need a mentor. I have some experience (50-75 edits and quite a bit of policy reading) from befor I was registered, but not much. I would really prefer to have someone with a lot of experience both posting and mentoring. Your notes seemed to fit the bill, and I was hoping you would be interested in mentoring me. Thank you very much. Someone999456 21:35, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
Adoption
I would love to be adopted! I am a slightly experienced Wikipedia user before I registered, but just with basic editing. I would really like to have someone mentor me more on policies, advanced features, antivandalism, etc. If you would like and be able to, I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Someone999456 17:25, 10 May 2007 (UTC)
- I don't really know... You have a lot more experience with this than me! What do you usually start with? Someone999456...Is watching you! 14:02, 11 May 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:02BabyItsYou-Preview.ogg
Thanks for uploading Image:02BabyItsYou-Preview.ogg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 08:59, 12 May 2007 (UTC)

Adoption templates
Hi. I notice that you adopted User:Someone999456, but didn't replace the {{adoptme}} template with {{adoptee}}. I've done this for you, and left a note to that effect on User talk:Someone999456, but in the future please try to remember to change the templates yourself. Thanks! --Sopoforic 03:42, 15 May 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image (Image:Dream street blue house.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Dream street blue house.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Aksibot 21:37, 27 May 2007 (UTC)
New Era?
Can you tell me what your source is for all the "new era" changes on Columbus Blue Jackets? BsroiaadnTalk 04:04, 31 May 2007 (UTC)
- I'll provide you with an online source as soon as I find one. This new logo is seen on all official product packaging and apparel. Alex43223 T | C | E 23:37, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- I don't doubt that it's true, but without a source...the changes shouldn't be made. I'll look for one again, but I couldn't find one last time I checked. BsroiaadnTalk 06:08, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Agreed. Alex43223 T | C | E 06:42, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

Feel free to speedy delete if you have replaced my image. I didn't know what the format exactly meant; I was just going by what the BotW template was like and I didn't know that it was contrary to the image format uploaded, because I don't really know what SVG involves (I usually default to PNG for WP uploads). My apologies, and thank you for correcting this for me. Nate 05:10, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

Non-free use disputed for Image:Penntraffic1.gif
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Penntraffic1.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:40, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
I see that you undid my edit of Penn Traffic for some reason. I have talked to many long time former employees of the chain who have all stated that Penn Traffic ruined the chain by implementing their differing stragities that didnt work in the market. There are many experts who have written articles who blame only Penn Traffic to the chains demise
Image:GiantEagle.svg
I have tagged Image:GiantEagle.svg as {{no rationale}}, because it does not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description page. Please also consider using {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 20:17, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

Please help me
Hallo Alex! Would you like to help me to upload a picture to illustrate an article (Nucleate boiling) that I have just placed on Wikipedia, please? I tried myself but I do not have enough knowledge to do it. You can find this picture on: www.spacefight.esa.int/users/fluids/intro_physics.htm, down under, titel: nucleation.jpg. It is copyright free. Maybe you are so kind to upload all of the pictures (6) on Commons? I can still use more of them to illustrate a new article about fluid physics and maybe others can use them too. I will be very happy if you can help me and contribute to the article about Nucleate boiling. Greetings. --LidiaFourdraine 10:45, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hallo Alex! I am very happy to hear that you are willing to help me with the pictures. Thanks a lot. Greetings. --LidiaFourdraine 08:24, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hallo Alex! I know the dead link, but I found the permission to copy in another way. Please do so: 1. Write "nucleate boiling" and search for images by Google; 2. Choose the image "Nucleate boiling" by www.spacefight.esa.int By me it is the fourth picture in the third line; 3. Open the image and you are on page "What is fluid physics". At the end of the page, left, you will see link to "Home", please open it; 4. Scroll to the end of this page and then open "About this website" and there you will find copyright information: "This website is solely for educational and information purposes, therefore NO copyright restrictions are imposed. Futhermore, some images contained in this website have come from other sources, and courtesy is indicated where appropriate." I hope you can follow my explanation to get there and that this is the right permission to download the images on Wikipedia. Greetings. --LidiaFourdraine 14:02, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hallo Alex! Please do not forget about me and the images. Greetings. --LidiaFourdraine 13:21, 22 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Alex! I am very happy to see the image of nucleate boiling in the article. Thanks a lot. Because the copyright issue was not clear I wrote a letter to Onera and I have received a good answer! I print it below so you can see it.

- Alex, please download a few more (3) pictures for me to illustrate the article Fluid physics, you can choose them yourself. Maybe if you have time you can download more images to Commons so other people can use them for their articles for example foam, boiling process and others.
- Images make the articles more interesting and better understandable. Once more thank you very much. Greetings. Maybe if possible please delete the e-mail because it contains my private address.--LidiaFourdraine 09:47, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
Hello Alex! Thanks a lot for the three images. I will wait till you have uploaded the rest and then I select a few to illustrate the article about Fluid Physics. Please give me a sign when you are ready. Greetings. --LidiaFourdraine 17:01, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hello Alex! Thanks a lot for the next two images. I will add them to the article soon. Greetings. --LidiaFourdraine 07:28, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

Unusual Adoption Request
Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.
Thank you!

NYPD emblem
The emblem you uploaded that purports to be that of the NYPD is, in fact, not. I have removed it from both the NYPD page and the Real time crime center. The colors are wrong, the figures and shapes are wrong, and it generally is bizarre. Please leave it off the pages. --David Shankbone 00:09, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

Help
hello!!
I need your helpppppppp !! I'm currently trying to understand how does wikipédia work and I may have articles to write... Could you help me to do that?
Thanks a lot.
Please adopt me Pez1103
I need help on the Morgellons article. I have been trying to make the article more balanced, more NPOV, but am meeting a lot of resistance and downright hostility. This page has a history of mean spirited nastiness directed at anyone who does not believe the disease is delusional. It is currently very biased. I tried to make edits last week and they tried to have me blocked permanently from the system. There are several editors on that board who have an agenda and use weasel words and cherry picking to distort the article. I must warn you, if you try to help me, you will be in for a fight. Please check out the discussion page and the article and let me know if you are willing to help. It's important -- people with Morgellons are very ill physically and it is affecting thousands of children. A wiki article which dismisses them as delusional hurts innocent sick children. Please leave a message on my page and let me know what you decide. Thanks Pez1103 18:23, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
