We've gone ahead with the deletion/moving process

[edit]

I've put a speedy deletion tag on "List of Middle-earth weapons", per Carcharoth's instructions. All right? See Talk:List of Middle-earth weapons/Archive 2. The contents of the talk page won't be deleted, and I've saved the last saved version of "List" on my hard drive. After it's deleted, Carcharoth can move the pages properly. Uthanc 05:08, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've added an update at User_talk:Uthanc#Ready_for_speedy_deletion_request. Moving things is not hard. If you have any questions about moving pages in future, please read WP:MOVE or just ask me or someone at the Help Desk. Happy editing! :-) Carcharoth 20:45, 28 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not post or repost text from other websites

[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia has strict guidelines about copying text from other websites without permission. Doing it once is bad enough, but reposting an article that has already been deleted as a copyright violation is considered vandalism. Please take care not to let it happen again. Thank you. --Butseriouslyfolks 05:55, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, I see that now as I look at the other volumes. It looks like only the one was caught, so I see now who was responsible. You were clearly acting in good faith and stumbled into somebody else's copyvio. Take care! --Butseriouslyfolks 06:05, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Edinburghrambler.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Edinburghrambler.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 09:00, 27 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Allie Brosh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 22:14, 19 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Alataristarion! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 6 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

License tagging for File:Lawmulti.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Lawmulti.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:08, 28 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. ⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SOTM-Box-cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:58, 10 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:Ed Miller (Scottish folk musician) albums indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 01:06, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
