Just a quick note that I undid your relinking of California in the lede of October 2023 Speaker of the United States House of Representatives election per MOS:SEAOFBLUE. Just because something could be linked doesn't mean that it should. In that case, other U.S. states were not wikilinked and there are already a large number of names, places, and titles wikilinked in close proximity. Wikilinking California in that instance doesn't benefit the reader. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 20:22, 1 July 2024 (UTC)

Overlinking in surname pages
[edit]Hi, please be respectful of the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. Your edits at Mayerhofer have been reverted several times and should stay reverted. Do not add unnecessary wikilinks in such surname pages. Take a look at other articles, Steele (surname), Mason (surname), Clare (surname), you name it - note that the entries are brief and include one blue link only. 162 etc. (talk) 17:41, 10 July 2024 (UTC)

Mirrors
[edit] Thanks for contributing to the article Ron Pelosi . However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable and attributed to reliable sources. You have recently used citations which copied, or mirrored, material from Wikipedia. This leads to a circular reference and is not acceptable. Most mirrors are clearly labeled as such, but some are in violation of our license and do not provide the correct attribution. Please help by adding alternate sources to the article you edited! If you need any help or clarification, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Thank you. Edits at Talk:Tel al-Sultan massacre reverted
[edit]Hello,
I'm reaching out to you to explain why I removed your comments at Tel al-Sultan massacre from the move discussion.
Unfortunately, in order to participate in internal discussions related to topics such as the Israel-Palestine conflict / Arab Israeli conflict, you need to have a registered account that is at least thirty days old and has at least 500 edits.
Since you're not editing from an account, you are not eligible to participate in said discussions.
Thank you, Vanilla Wizard 💙 04:02, 14 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Seriously, drop the stick. This has been said in the move review already, but it's obvious no one wants this move, and you haven't even tried to discuss it with me, which you must do for a move review. Granted, my talk page is extended-confirmed protected, but you could've at least attempted something on the article's talk page. LilianaUwU (talk / contributions) 05:24, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Please stop making test edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Miriam Adelson. It is considered vandalism, which, under Wikipedia policy, can lead to being blocked from editing. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Rising (web series), disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. See MOS:OVERLINK. CodeTalker (talk) 05:38, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- PLEASE STOP adding links to country names. MOS:OVERLINK, which I referred you to yesterday, is clear that names of major countries should not be linked. Yet today you made two more edits in which you linked country names (Special:Diff/1236047541 and Special:Diff/1235956859). Please acknowledge that you understand that you should not do this. Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 17:07, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
Bro, enough. Reverting your MOS:OVERLINK edits is becoming a daily task for me. Stop it. You're gonna get yourself banned. 162 etc. (talk) 16:57, 27 July 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Additionally, you must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days, and are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on a page within this topic.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.

[edit]{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
. ⇌ Jake Wartenberg 17:19, 1 August 2024 (UTC)i made a block review request below 173.72.3.91 (talk) 17:51, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
173.72.3.91 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
i was making a requested move for united states but got into an edit conflict before i could provide the explanation as I used subst requested move and than published changes and than provided explanation where it said that but by the time I got into an edit conflict and was blocked and the block explanation says I made disruptive edits but I do not remember doing anything disruptive unless I have a misunderstanding.
Decline reason:
It would clearly be a bad idea to lift this block, especially given the discussion below. Yamla (talk) 18:40, 3 August 2024 (UTC)
If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
What title did you intend to request that United States be moved to? ⇌ Jake Wartenberg 21:49, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- I intended to move it to united states of america 173.72.3.91 (talk) 23:18, 1 August 2024 (UTC)
- Did you consider that perhaps the article- about such a highly visible topic- is at that title for a reason? 331dot (talk) 06:43, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- yes but I made a move request to discuss weather putting the full name as title united states of america is better 173.72.3.91 (talk) 14:38, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Before taking such action, especially for such a high profile page, you should start a discussion on the Talk page. You also should check the Talk archives or FAQ (if there is one) to see if the current title had been selected or affirmed by consensus. Then ask yourself whether or not there were reasons since that consensus was established that a change should be made. In this case, Question 2 on the FAQ at the top of Talk:United States addresses the page name issue and points to Talk:United States/Name, an archive specifically of past discussions around the page name issue. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 15:48, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
