Discussion relating to the 10.0 rating

[edit]

The awarding of the 10.0 rating is the subject of discussion by figures both external and internal to Pitchfork Media. Examples of such discussion include:

In Nick Sylvester's review of the album Worlds Apart by the same artist,[14] the reviewer questions whether Source Tags & Codes merited its 10.0 rating:
In Jess Harvell's review of Blondie's Greatest Hits: Sound and Vision,[15] which she gives an 8.0, she says of the band's earlier compilation:
In a review of the Eminem album The Eminem Show,[16] there is a passing reference to another of that artist's releases, The Marshall Mathers LP, hypothetically being awarded a 10.0 rating.
In the review of Bee Thousand: The Director's Cut[17] (the expanded version of Guided by Voices' 1994 release Bee Thousand) the reviewer, Eric Carr, states how the original version is worthy of the 10.0 rating:
Reviewer Brent DiCrescenzo:
In a review of the reissue of Forever Changes by Love, the reviewer writes at the beginning:
Will Bryant asks[18] of this post-breakup compilation, which he gives a 7.0:
In Eric Carr's review[19] this album was in theory given both a 0.0 and a 10.0 rating:
The reviewers of Atlantic's reissues of the band's first nine albums (through 90125), state:
The much-delayed follow-up to 90125, Big Generator, was a dud of spectacular proportions (in all seriousness: 0.0), and few of their subsequent releases are much better.
