Lockdown (2006) was a professional wrestling pay-per-view (PPV) event produced by Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), which took place on April 23, 2006 at the TNA Impact! Zone in Orlando, Florida. It was the second event under the Lockdown chronology. Eight professional wrestling matches were featured on the event's card. In the tradition of Lockdown events, every match took place inside a steel structure with six sides, known as Six Sides of Steel.

The event featured eight professional wrestling matches that involved different wrestlers from pre-existing scripted feuds, plots, and storylines. Wrestlers were portrayed as either villains or heroes in the scripted events that built tension and culminated in a wrestling match or series of matches. In the tradition of Lockdown events, every match was contested inside a 16 foot (4.9 m) high steel structure with six sides known as Six Sides of Steel.

[[:File:Samoa Joe muscle buster in London Sep 2008.jpg|right|thumb|160px|Samoa Joe perfroming the Muscle Buster]] The fifth match was contested for the TNA X Division Championship, in which the then-champion, Samoa Joe, defended the belt against the challenger, Sabu, who worked the match with a legitimately broken arm, which Joe targeted throughout the match. Sabu at one point during the bout introduced a steel pike to attack Joe with, however, Joe fought off Sabu's advance while the referee retrieved and disposed of the deadly weapon. Joe won the match and retained the X Division Championship by grabbing and placing Sabu on the top of a padded turnbuckle, lifted Sabu up, and slammed Sabu's back and neck into his shoulder and the mat by using a maneuver dubbed the Muscle Buster.
