- The article's content is relevant but there could be much more information about the research developments from the biomedical engineering department as well as notable alumni and focus areas/curriculum. These topics have the potential to be their own sections, and expand upon the program's objectives, include data about acceptance/graduation rates, and distinguish between the undergraduate and graduate programs. Currently, most of the information is only about the history of BME at Johns Hopkins. Though it states statistics about JHU BME rankings that paint the department in a positive light, the article mostly maintains neutrality. The section "The Whitaker Foundation Years" lacks any citations to support its claims. Some citations may be be biased because they are from the school site and will obviously speak favorably about the BME department. Since this is a start-class article, there is no current activity on the talk page.

- The article contains a variety of relevant information about all aspects of Mary's life from her childhood to her philanthropy and feminism. Some of the images may not be as relevant, such as the image of her father or places she has been. A suggestion could be to include more photos of Mary herself. The article is written mostly favorably towards Mary and her efforts at reform, describing her as "an effective negotiator and businesswoman" and talking about her work and charity in building schools for girls. However, it also effectively presents criticisms of her from the time period and how others at the time thought women's education was a waste. It leaves the reader to draw their own conclusions, and will still most likely side with Mary Garrett. Though most claims are properly cited, a few scattered facts about her childhood friends could use citations. Though the sources are reliable, most come from the same 3-4 novels about the history of Hopkins in the Gilded Age and biographies written about her. On the talk page, people suggested expanding on what influenced her to donate to Johns Hopkins, given her own health problems.

Other procedures such as facial feminization surgery or breast augmentation are briefly defined but could be described in more detail relating to risks, costs, and benefits. In the history section, it jumps straight to famous people who received sex reassignment surgeries without explaining the background on how successful techniques were developed or how they progressed. The fact about Canada allowing transgender people to serve on the armed forces seems isolated and out of place, and it could be placed in context of other countries making the similar legalizations. There is an abundance of information about transgender history in Canada overall, compared to other countries like the United States. The article, while maintaining a neutral tone in describing SRS on a medical level, has sparked intense debate on the Talk page over specific wording that could be interpreted as biased, such as referring to the neo-vagina as "an open wound". This is what a user claims is part of anti-transgender rhetoric. Another issue is the need for additional citations for verification, especially in the section on the "other related procedures", which completely lack any citations. The sources are reliable, ranging from books on transgender procedures to news articles about legislature. There is plenty of intense, emotion-fueled discussion on the Talk page from people in the transgender community who have gone through these procedures and are calling out the medical accuracies of the article based on their personal experience. Others want to cut out unnecessary details, citing the already established existence of other related pages on the subject such as the main article on Sex Reassignment Surgery.
