Jeanine Nichole Lobell is an American make-up artist and businesswoman who created and founded Stila Cosmetics.
Born to New Yorker parents, Jeanine Lobell was born in Stockholm Sweden and grew up in Europe. After completing school in London, England, Lobell moved to Los Angeles where she launched her career by doing makeup for various music videos. Moving on from music videos, Lobell was also providing makeup artistry for magazine covers. These jobs allowed Lobell to build her networks and she became widely popular during premiers and award shows.[1]]
In an interview done with Into the Gloss beauty blog, Lobell states that she likes to keep her celebrity work pretty limited. She has worked with celebrities such as: Natalie Portman Cate Blanchett and Michelle Williams also stating that she has worked with Rachel Weisz occasionally. [2]
Stila Cosmetics was launched in 1994. Lobell produced high quality make-up products packed in attractive packaging. Jeanine Lobell set out to create a signature packaging style that would be environmentally safe. The idea resulted in a chic yet modern style, crafted out of recycled paper, aluminum and glass that were both sturdy and unique. Stila Cosmetics began incorporating distinctive illustrations and inspiring feminine quotes that would help promote the brand in a way that was fun and fancy. The biggest aspect to keeping the brand environmentally friendly is that Lobell and her team do not conduct nor endorse cosmetic testing on animals.[3]
Stila cosmetics consists of collections of vibrant colourful make-up products such as; highly pigmented eyeliner and eye shadow pallets, luxurious lip-glosses, blushes and cheek stains. Stila retails in various locations worldwide such as Sephora and the company has their own site where customers can purchase their iconic items.
Stila was in business for five years before recently being bought over by Estee Lauder by this happening this gave Lobell and Stila Cosmetics access to more resources and high-tech labs that will help produce her iconic products. [4] Upon this happening, Lobell took a backseat to her company. She left Los Angeles and moved to New York City. Since then she has been more into fashion and editorials stating that she’s focusing on, “stuff that is more inspiring and challenging for me, where as in LA it was more limited with what you got to do”. [5]
Jeanine currently resides on the East Coast with her husband, actor Anthony Edwards and four children. [6] Her oldest son named Bailey (born June 1, 1994) and three daughters: Esme and Wallis (born September 1, 2000) and youngest daughter Poppy (born March 15, 2002). [7] As her company was up and coming, she worked from home so that she would be able to spend quality time with her kids. Lobell states that when it comes to parenting and the future of her children, she wants them to self-create the way she did, sharing that she wants her children to follow their dreams and be excited to be alive.[8]
