Template colors

[edit]

The colors of this template are almost exactly the same as those used by the blue Wikipedia links, making the county name in the template nearly invisible. I am aware this is probably an original problem with the "US county navigation box" presets, but a change in the colors of this particular template would resolve the problem. On the other hand, I have seen the same templates for other counties which have the same problem. In my opinion, this is something that should be thought about and acted upon summarily. There are 80 towns listed in this template, and if it appears on the Wikipedia page of every one of them, then this is, in my opinion, a widespread problem with the color contrast that could be fixed easily.

Nationwide, we base county templates on state templates: whatever color is chosen for the state template is therefore the color of all the county templates. Please bring up the issue at Template talk:Massachusetts, and please don't change the state template color unless (1) you get consensus for it, or (2) you also change all the county templates. Thank you for the explanation, I will do so. Navy blue is indeed a good color for Massachusetts--it's the main one on the state flag aside from white, after all--but it just doesn't work with the Wikipedia links having the same color. RedSoxFan274 (talk~contribs) 04:18, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I just visited the Template:Massachusetts talk page, and as a matter of fact the issue has already been brought up there. Hopefully some action will be taken about it. RedSoxFan274 (talk~contribs) 04:21, 30 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
