I created an article for the Hetfield/Ulrich songwriting team, which is the primary backbone of Metallica's song catalogue. Looking at the Category:Songwriting teams category, it is clear that many famous duos have their own articles (John/Taupin, Jagger/Richards, Lennon/McCartney, et al). I felt that Hetfield/Ulrich have written many noteworthy songs and are therefore deserving of their own article. I also felt this should be added onto the Metallica template, as it is definitely worthy of inclusion in the Metallica category of articles. Hope this explains my rationale enough. Whiskey in the Jar

Clicking on Whiskey in the Jar in this template box takes us to the article on the Irish folk song. Is this intentional? Does no article exist for the Metallica single? Since the link appears in a list of Metallica singles I was expecting it to lead to an article that's consistent with all the others in the list.--Jeff79 21:27, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Remove Singles Please

It's making this template massive, really. Hello2112 19:05, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

more like remove the tours, as they are unnessicery PENSIMONSTAR 15:35, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Lloyd Grant?

According to the band members page, Lloyd was never an official member, it lists him under "with" on the line-ups, as it does for Bob Rock, who's not included on the template. So shouldn't Bob Rock either be added to the template under the band members section or Lloyd Grant be removed from the template?

I agree. Skeeker [Talk] 21:46, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

i don't think bob or lloyd should be on there to be honest —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.141.243.236 (talk) 02:57, 18 January 2008 (UTC)

Bob Rock listed as a member of Metallica

Yes, I'm aware that he was credited as "session bassist" on St. Anger, but he was never a member of the band and shouldn't be represented as such, which I think this template is doing.--Jeff79 (talk) 07:57, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Singles

The singles should be back on th template, otherwise would be too difficult to find them.-- Rockk3r Spit it Out! 03:56, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

megadeath?! what the hell?!

Rick Rubin

Rick Rubin produced Metallica's latest album, Death Magnetic, and he played a critical role in returning Metallica to their glory days in 2008. Therefore, I think he should thus be included in this template. Mr. Brain (talk) 00:33, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Seek & Destroy and Don't Tread on Me

Seek & Destroy should be removed from singles, as it wasn't released as a single. (or I know it incorrect?) Also I want to know where Don't Tread on Me (Metallica song) was released as a single, or I'd think, the article lies and it wasn't released as a single at all.--George Talk 06:07, 6 October 2010 (UTC)

Seek & Destroy was released in Italy as an UNOFFICIAL RELEASE in 1991 (not in 1983), so its not a single, this proved by even the song's article, and should be removed from the template. as for Don't Tread on Me (Metallica song), see its discussion page. --George Talk 09:12, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

The Call of Ktulu

Recently I published and article about The Call of Ktulu, with basic info. I was hoping that someone else could help me with that, but now the page was removed, and if you click "The Call of Ktulu", it will take you to the Ride the Lightning album article, with low info about the song. Please, can someone create the article again, now with quotes and enough information not just by me? Manolete151 (talk 03:18, 15 August 2012 (UTC)

Sylosis

Why is the band Sylosis included as a related article? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nethalcon (talkcontribs) 16:54, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

Because an editor added it possibly as a means to promote the article. I've removed it--L1A1 FAL (talk) 17:17, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

your problem and mine both should be fixed

1 just add what you added to the article in the lightning album page and call it good 2. i just added an article on the up and coming tenth album and you guys should try to make it larger Professerfrink (talk) 02:47, 12 February 2013 (UTC)Professorfrink

I appreciate your efforts but what you have done here (creating an article with essentially no content), isn't the way to do it and doesn't really help. I have tagged the page for deletion. Thank you. --RacerX11 Talk to meStalk me 02:58, 12 February 2013 (UTC)

Template:Metallica songs

Support split - Navbox is long, and should have its songs split to a new navbox entitled Template:Metallica songs. Thoughts? --Jax 0677 (talk) 15:32, 9 December 2018 (UTC)

Although this is preferred for accessibility reasons template editors don't like it for some reason. It would definitely make sense to divide these up so it's easier for navigation but there are Core group of editors that for some reason don't care about this point.--Moxy (talk) 15:49, 9 December 2018 (UTC)
Reply - @Moxy:, huh??? --Jax 0677 (talk) 02:57, 10 December 2018 (UTC)
Sorry about the rant......I think its a great idea. Just be aware that you may get some resistances from others. Best of luck!--Moxy (talk) 03:49, 10 December 2018 (UTC)

The Black Album

@4TheWynne:, I don't know why you consider it "unnecessary" to mention the extremely common nickname of Metallica's 1991 self-titled album. Template:The Beatles albums has a parenthetical statement referring to their 1968 self-titled album as "The White Album." Partofthemachine (talk) 23:00, 29 July 2022 (UTC)

Partofthemachine, the nickname isn't included in the discography section of the band article or the discography page, so I don't see why it needs to be mentioned here; whatever's agreed upon should apply to all three (as it does for the Beatles), and you should reach a consensus for this first – the Metallica talk page would be the more appropriate place, if you feel strongly enough about this to bring it up. I personally think that a mention in the lead sections of the band and album articles is sufficient. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 14:13, 30 July 2022 (UTC)
