Source

[edit]

The template sates table 5A as source, but this does not exist. Tried with BEF5A, but that doesn't exist either. The closest would be BEF44, which roughly got the numbers of 2006 for Roskilde and Horsens - but around 500,000 off for Copenhagen.

I suppose the table used includes Copenhagen's suburbs, which I suppose rougly should give 1 million. --|EPO| 16:07, 16 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, the source link [1] doesn't make any sense. The table BEF44 only has numbers up till 2004, and some of them are quite a bit off as well. I found a link to an Excel document [2] on Danmarks Statistik's FAQ page [3], and the numbers there are similar to the numbers in our template. Only thing is, they're rounded to nearest 100, and the number for Aalborg is actually for Aalborg and Nørresundby together. I'm updating the template with Nørresundby and the changed source. --Fred Bradstadt 05:18, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The newly added source [4] makes much more sense. Nice work, Eric82oslo. Now I'm just thinking: What's with Danmarks Statistik's definition of "Aalborg"? Does it include Nørresundby or doesn't it? Apparently, it depends on the publication :-) --Fred Bradstadt 19:20, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Doubt they include Nørresundby. Though the two cities are close they are not the same. And as such they are officially two different cities (or rather one city and one town). Fred Bradstadt's link 4 mentions a new definition between urban and rural areas. As such some adresses, which were rural are now urban - and vice versa. The BEF44 table, which the publication links to, has Aalborg and Nørresundby as two different entries. But for comparison of city areas including neibouring towns, which have grown to become parts of these cities, it would make sense to include Nørresundby for defining Aalborg. --|EPO| 19:34, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.dst.dk/pukora/epub/Nyt/2007/NR415.pdf seems to be the most recent figures. Please note that both Greve Strand and Ishøj are now counted as parts of Copenhagen, so the list contains only 29 entries this year. Valentinian T / C 17:03, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to the Danish Wikipedia, Ringsted would be no. 30 with 18,934 people, but I don't have access to DS's statistikbase. Valentinian T / C 17:22, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Clarification added

[edit]

I've added a template footnote to detail the suburban municipalities included in the metropolitan Copenhagen population figure and to explain that Nørresundby, listed separately by Statistics Denmark, is aggregated with the Aalborg figure in our template.
