Why "Spotting rifle" redirects to this article?
[edit]This article describes different ways of "mounting" a weapon. A spotting rifle is a weapon used to aim/help aim another (bigger) weapon. So they're 2 different concepts! Can anyone please explain, before I (try to) ammend this situation?

Spotting rifles may need their own entry but as far as i know they are only ever part of the aiming system for a larger gun. This article however does not mention how they are usually mounted for their purpose, I don't know if they are detachable.122.49.167.49 (talk) 13:41, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
Steadicam gun mount?
[edit]It is possible to mount a gun on a Steadicam mount and this has been gone at least 3 times but (including in the movie Aliens). It is not a common it is a tip of weapon mount and therefore should be mentioned in this article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.235.33.23 (talk) 03:10, 23 December 2010 (UTC)
