Weasel-words tag
[edit]I just removed the weasel-words tag. I did a pretty thorough scan of the article. I did see some problems with the introduction, which I changed. Perhaps the article had already been cleaned up before I got to it, but I did not see any evidence of weasel-words after fixing up the intro. If anyone has any concerns about weasel-words, please post them here! I want to ensure this article is WP:NPOV. Cazort (talk) 21:57, 26 February 2009 (UTC)
Possible source
[edit]http://www.slate.com/articles/life/walking/2012/04/walking_in_america_what_scientists_know_about_how_pedestrians_really_behave_.html is part of a series on walking or being a pedestrian, and it might be useful as a source for this article. WhatamIdoing (talk) 18:40, 16 April 2012 (UTC)
Some bold cleanup, and COI editing in general…
[edit]I wouldn't mind review of this edit I made to the article. I did some cleanup to remove or improve vaguely promotional language, or the more subtle implications of particular services being more "scientific" or "algorithmic" or whatever. That section has definitely suffered from some obvious conflict of interest (COI) single-purpose accounts, most obviously ones like Elenamaponics (talk · contribs), Walkabilityasia (talk · contribs), or WalkUK (talk · contribs). In particular, I removed a bunch of (sourced!) content from the item there on Walk Score, where I felt that the additional content was being used to give Walk Score undue weight among the services mentioned—but others might disagree, or find other useful content in the now-omitted sources, so it's probably worth mentioning. {{Nihiltres|talk|edits}} 16:23, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
Edits, Revisions, Reorganization, Etc.
[edit]I've been working on this page for the last few weeks in my sandbox, attempting to improve the quality from start-class to maybe a B or C. I'll be inserting my changes soon, which include editing the language to be more Wikipedia-friendly, adding in a History section, formatting long lists to bulleted lists, dividing up the Benefits section into sub-sections, renaming Community Planning to Increasing Walkability, and moving information into these sections to better the flow of the article. Please post here if you have any concerns or comments about my plans for the page! --Mkh1206 (talk) 16:03, 27 November 2015 (UTC)
Factors of Walkability, Edits of the article, addition of history information
[edit]Hi everyone!
I worked on add more photos, and added information on the factors of walkability based on the dovey source as cited. I reformatted the ways to improve walkability portion of the article and added additional information to the history section (does need citation as I rephrased them from their parent wiki pages).
If anyone is interested there is a big development on R/fuckcars that I believe would add a perspective on how walkability is seen on the internet and should be added. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Springtime52 (talk • contribs)
Edits to Health: Physical and Mental
[edit]We have a lot of new studies and information regarding the health benefits of walkability, both physically and mentally. Perhaps adding this to the health section would help build it out. Looking to get the go ahead to do so. 79.154.21.188 (talk) 13:19, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
