Prod
[edit]Why the hell has this article been prodded? This band have released an EP, 2 singles (with chart positions) and have a future single expected on July 9th. Me and a number of other users have spent a large amount of time and effort putting work into this page. there is no basis for deletion. Would the nominator please explain themselves? Otherwise i'm deleting the tag myself. --SteelersFan UK06 20:49, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- You must verify such statements. Rockstar (T/C) 16:12, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- I did verify the statement, you removed it. Please do not edit talk pages. WP:Music says that the page needs to meet any one of the criteria and one of them is to have a charting single on any national chart. Dykeenies did this with "New Ideas", when it charted at #54. The tag doesn't need to be placed again, thanks --SteelersFan UK06 16:23, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- a) I removed what you said because it was attack text, which may be removed at any point without further conversation. b) Everything that is on a Wikipedia page must be verifiable. You must provide citations for facts like charts, lest they be removed. Right now, the page still fails WP:MUSIC. You must remember, Wikipedia does not care about truth, it cares about verifiability. Rockstar (T/C) 16:26, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Fair enough, i apologise for the attack text, Dykeenies are just very close to my heart. What is it that you want verified in order to keep the page up? --SteelersFan UK06 16:31, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks for the apology. To answer your question, ideally, if there are some articles about the band (which I'm sure there are), that would absolutely take the band's notability out of question. Rockstar (T/C) 17:02, 20 June 2007 (UTC)

I have just found a citation of their chart position, which i have added to the New Ideas article (the single in question). Please look at the article. I haven't added it to the main article yet. Does this count as verification? --SteelersFan UK06 17:18, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yep, good job! Rockstar (T/C) 20:39, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- haha! high five dude, for making me get the thumb out =) --SteelersFan UK06 21:54, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
- Funny how an article that was once prodded is now considered a Good Article! Good work Dykeenies fans! – PeeJay 18:56, 26 September 2010 (UTC)
And Another Thing!
[edit]Just becuase the dykeenies have "Dyke" in their name, does not mean that the band have ANYTHING to do with Lesbian, Gay, Bisexuality, or Transgender wikiprojects. Please refrain from adding them. --SteelersFan UK06 22:10, 20 June 2007 (UTC)
