Big Problems

This article needs massive help. Why is there (previously)no talk page for this article? Why are there two definitions of Podsafe, both of them horribly misleading. Again, it looks like friends of Podshow and their affiliates have tainted what should be a neutral article. I still can't get over there being no discussion page. Why is this article so long and why does it contain so much irrelevant information. Why are there no sources other than Podshow reps being used? Why is there almost a page on Adam Curry's podsafe adventures?

Podsafe music is merely music that anyone can play on a podcast without any licenscing/royalties involved. Yet this article goes on and on and on. PLEASE help clean up this article. It is in a sorry state.

Big Edit

Well, being bold and of neutral mind I tried to restructure and salvage this article. It is clear to me that many people had used this article as a way to route traffic and advertise, many links without any symmetry involved. I think it still needs help, especially the "Defining" of Podsafe itself. It is still rather squirrelly and some of it sounds mysteriously like a legal document, which is not needed considering how simple a concept podsafety is. The saddest thing about this article is that it doesn't give enough credit to the artists themselves for getting on the podsafe train. Podshow, Rumblefish and other distribution networks would rather list their Terms and Prices and exploit this article rather than responsibly craft a clean, simple and informative entry that gives ample credit to the real Podsafe "innovators"- the artists themselves. A note on recent edit RE: PMN

In a recent attempt to try and finally clean up this article I removed this paragraph which I felt was not needed and confusing because it is an arbitrary 2nd (or 3rd) definition for the word podsafe.

PMN definition of "podsafe"

Loosely translated, music licensed through Podsafe Music Network (PMN), the podsafe music repository run by the PodShow podcasting network, is podsafe (as of 2005 November 21) in that the music can be played by any user from its website, may be downloaded only by podcasters intending to use the work in a broadcast or by users intending to create a similarly licensed and properly attributed derivative work (mash-ups are explicitly allowed), and may be used for free in a public podcast or streamed webcast, if properly attributed as set forth in the terms. Of course, to legally post music to PMN, the poster must fully own the work, the work must be entirely original (with little exception), and the poster must retain most rights to the work, despite any prior or future legal agreements. PMN does not currently deny the same rights to commercial podcasters, and, since it is owned by a commercial podcast network, it may not be inclined to do so in the future.^[1]

I wanted to note here that I moved this paragraph to the wiki entry for the Podsafe Music Network. I felt that this information should not be deleted but instead moved to a more fitting article.Testerer 03:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Surely there's room to include another source exhibiting music that falls under the criteria established in the article.
