This is what I love about Wikipedia. I write an ok article and within an hour, it becomes a good article through contributions of others. That's why I stay. :) --Woohookitty 21:42, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)

Vulnerable Native Breed

[edit]

This breed is classed in Britain as a VNB - a breed which originated in the UK but now has registration numbers with the Kennel Club of less then 300 puppies per year.

I'm a Canadian teenager on a gap year before Uni and I'm really interested in this. Would anyone like a VNB paragraph/link on this page? I can write it, but am ignorant about formatting etc. Plus, I'm trying to put together a whole collection on all 29 breeds on this list, including history and so on, using Wikipedia as one of my many sources. If you can help, or are interested at all, please contact me either on my talk page or at [email protected]

Endangered species?

[edit]

I'm afraid whoever added the endangered species section jumped the gun a tad. The link provided to back up the statement refers to otters becoming an endangered species, not otterhounds. Otterhounds are a breed rather than a species, so don't qualify for the Endangered species list. GeeJo (t)(c) • 04:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

They aren't an endagered species per se, as you stated, but they are in danger of dying out as a breed (see above) due to various circumstances, the most prominant of which being the fact that otters are no longer hunted and thier size and maintenance.--The Wizard of Magicland 09:56, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Top Photo

[edit]

The dogs in the top photo are Kingstree Chieftain and Ch. Actaeons Precocious with Kingstree. The breeder has written a note about the photo here. I have added their names, as well as much more information. I actually have an Otterhound, so I would love to help sort this article out a bit more if no one minds. If that note is true, the photo should probably be put up for deletion.149.154.159.142 (talk) 16:52, 7 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Or I could just email the breeder, and ask for permission along with proper attribution? CYL (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 17:15, 7 May 2012 (UTC).[reply]
