Information to be added or removed: As of the 3rd of June, 2019, Navantia (and subsidiaries) have undergone a corporate rebrand and now have an updated corporate logo. Explanation of issue: As a Navantia Australia employee (ICT Manager) it would not be appropriate for me to make the change myself, however, company directors are keen for the new logo to replace the old one, as quickly as possible. References supporting change: New logo linked on global website.

  • The logo must be uploaded to Wikipedia along with the appurtenant licensing before the logo may be added to the article.
  • The COI editor may use the File Upload Wizard to accomplish this.
  • Once the logo is uploaded, please open a new edit request.

  • The logo has been added to the article. However, please be aware that in the logo's licensing — which is mandatory for use in Wikipedia — the following required elements have thus far not been provided:
  1. Author or copyright owner
  2. Non-free content criteria No.1
  3. Non-free content criteria No.2
  • Wikipedia takes the handling of logos very seriously. Not having these elements filled out properly means that the logo runs the risk of being deleted in the near future. Once that happens, the logo will no longer display in the article. The COI editor is urged to ensure that all required elements of the licensing are provided as soon as possible to prevent disruption to the article through the loss of its logo.[a]

Notes

  1. ^ The logo has been uploaded under a fair use exemption when it appears to be only letters and shapes. Images consisting only of simple geometric shapes or text do not meet the threshold of originality needed for copyright protection, and would therefore be in the public domain. It might be advantageous for the COI editor to have the logo uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, where other such logos are kept. The licensing requirements for logos considered to be in the public domain are less for those used under fair use exemptions. In those cases, the uploading editor need only specify that the logo was created by someone else and that the logo does not meet the threshold for originality for a copyright to apply. That way, the non-free content criterion which were skipped with the current file are not necessary. (Although free of copyright restrictions, those images may still be subject to other restrictions.) The COI editor may use the Commons:Upload Wizard if they so choose to upload the file under that type of license.
