Merge with Movement (clockwork) or somewhere else?

[edit]

I don't think the word 'mechanism' has a different usage in horology than it does in machine design or other areas of mechanical technology: compare Mechanism (technology). It seems a little misleading to me to have a separate article on horological 'mechanisms', all the examples given in the article are already covered in chronograph, repeater, movement, wheel train, and keyless work. What about merging this article into one of these? --ChetvornoTALK 05:10, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Performed merger. I didn't actually save any of the content since the terms used in the article; 'chronograph mechanism', 'repeating mechanism', 'setting mechanism', and 'winding mechanism' are not standard terms, and are covered in Chronograph, Repeater (horology), Wheel train (horology) and Movement (clockwork). --ChetvornoTALKCONTRIB 07:39, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
