Requested move
[edit]Maná previously redirected to mana, but maná is not an alternative spelling of mana. Thus there is no need for this article to be named Maná (band). It should be moved to Maná. --Salleman 18:15, 6 September 2005 (UTC)

Discussion
[edit]- Add any additional comments
This article has been renamed as the result of a move request. Whereby Maná (band) was moved, rayando el sol, to Maná. –Hajor 21:22, 17 September 2005 (UTC)
I am gladd the disambig remains from Mana (disambiguation) though as I (and many others) cannot easily just type "á"... Lar: t/c 15:18, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Not just you. The band shows up as Mana in recording lists, youtube and other video and music channels. So it's useful if they can be found with a or á. 2600:1700:1C64:8240:5DC5:5022:6134:4982 (talk) 13:00, 4 April 2023 (UTC)
Cite needed
[edit]Can someone get a cite for "Alex Gonzales has been regarded as one of the best drummers of all time." ?? Else it maybe needs to go. Also the article could use sectionalisation, and links to reviews. For instance the All Music Guide has some good info, so I added it, but there are others. PS I hope you like the two covers I scanned in! (those are the two albums I have... I upgraded their articles as well) Lar: t/c 15:17, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- I added {{Infobox Band}} and did some sectionalizing. Cites still needed though, I have tagged them that way. Lar: t/c 15:58, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
FAO Goodwill Ambassador
[edit]Could someone add the fact that Maná is the FAO Goodwill Ambassador? I am not sure where to put it. Reference: [1] —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Gadig (talk • contribs) 15:21, 5 December 2006 (UTC).
The Spanish-language Wikipedia has a lot more info we could use
[edit]Those of us who know Spanish (which one would assume covers many of the people who would be interested in this article!) could stand to add considerable information from the Spanish Wikipedia article on Maná. Obviously we wouldn't use the non-neutral POV stuff, but there is information such as indicators of which singles were hits around the world, awards won in various countries, etc. — Lawikitejana 22:59, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
Hello, I wanted to ask if anyone can add idea on the article of http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mana_(band) I been on other artists or gruop articles were they have a complete list of albums and I was wondering if you can do it for Mana article? Just to let you know sorry that this message is long. The following is what I came up with:
The word "premios" from "Premios Juventud awards" and "Premios Lo Nuestro" should be deleted because "premios" is spanish for "awards".

Upload Maná albums cover image
[edit]First of all Maná Rock's.
In the last two weeks I've have been creating "articles" for the albums of Maná. Can someone upload the correct album cover for these following albums: Falta Amor, ¿Dónde Jugarán Los Niños? Please note on this album the album cover for ¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños? (Special Edition) is different from the orginal album., Maná en Vivo, Cuando Los Ángeles Lloran, Maná MTV Unplugged, Todo Grandes Exitos, Lo Esencial de Maná, Grandes (Import), Sólo Para Fanáticos, 100% Maná, Esenciales: Sol, Esenciales: Luna, Esenciales: Eclipse, Revolución de Amor: 2003 Tour Edition, Amar Es Combatir (Deluxe Limited Edition).
I try doing it but it doesn't come out good.
Help
[edit]I think I've listened to Mana's "Hechicera" in italian. Could anybody tell me the title and singer? Thanks in advance. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.176.131.206 (talk) 18:51, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
Name change
[edit]The article doesn't specify when the band's name was changed from Sombrero Verde to Maná. ~RayLast «Talk!» 20:38, 8 April 2008 (UTC)
The site http://www.mana.com.mx/_htm_eng/index.html clicking on BI0GRAPHY mentions that they wanted to re-invent themselves in 1986 and that the name Maná signifies "positive energy" in a Polynesian languange.Halconen (talk) 20:42, 24 February 2009 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Please watch out for vandalism on this page. The sentence:
"Allmusic reviewer Sandra Brennan has said "Mexican pop-rockers Maná are considered the kings of Latino rock..."
was changed for:
Allmusic reviewer Sandra Brennan has said "Mexican pop-rockers Maná are considered the losers of Latino rock..."
I already undid the damage but the vandal may come back so please keep monitoring against any further vandalism.--190.10.76.226 (talk) 22:37, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
Formed in 1978?
[edit]The article says that the band formed in 1978 and released albums in the following years, which is not cited. However, the band's Allmusic biography says that Maná formed in 1986. Are there any sources saying that they formed in 1978? Basilisk4u (talk) 03:36, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
- See "Name change" above. The band changed their name in 1986. Allmusic is not very reliable for non-Anglo-American artists. Skinsmoke (talk) 19:49, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
