Washington D.C.?

Isn't this page supposed to list political violence IN WASHINGTON, D.C.? Many of these listed are not even in Washington, D.C. These need to be removed, or the page needs to be renamed.Swivelgames (talk) 00:44, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Since many of the events that happened in the Washington metropolitan area (such as the plane crashing into the Pentagon during the September 11 attacks) would commonly be associated with Washington, D.C., they should remain, but be separated in their own category. During the insurrection attempt, four people were murdered due to political violence. It happened in 2021, not 2019 as your section title indicates. But I definitely agree this attack should be mentioned in this article. 86.25.36.220

The 2021 storming of the United States Capitol has been listed in this article since the day it took place. This article is not exclusively divided by centuries. The last division is incidents of political violence in the greater Washington metropolitan area, which I assume were included because a lot of politically motivated attacks happen to take place just outside the D.C. borders where many government buildings are located. The Capital storming is not in that section; it took place in D.C. It is located under the 21st century subheading. Clearly this is an issue because readers scroll immediately to the bottom of the article, unaware that they passed the Capital storming entry, and then attempt to add it a second time.
