Section on jumper types

[edit]

This needs a section on jumper types (ie 2.54mm vs 2.00mm, etc). Myrdred 21:30, 4 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In all the years I've worked with computer equipment, I have never heard the phrase "strapping" used to describe setting jumpers. I've only heard "jumpering". I am not going to remove the text from the article, but I am asking: does anyone have a cite for this? --Flewellyn 07:55, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Jumpers for CPU speed / voltage outdated?

[edit]

Should the sentence For example, computer CPU speed and voltage settings are often made by setting jumpers. be modified to ...were often made? In my experience this is no longer done, these settings are controlled directly from BIOS. Rob.desbois 20:44, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've taken this into account in my most recent edit of the article. Bloodshedder 23:57, 7 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Section needed on: HOW to toggle (strap, jumperize) a jumper?

[edit]

For a lot of people (I included), an explanation would be needed on how exactly we're supposed to toggle jumpers, since that one of the most important information concerning jumpers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.178.1.50 (talk) 23:09, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
