Centuries or Kamakura?
[edit]"Initially a two volume edition was compiled sometime between 1144-1165. This was soon followed by a revised three volume edition by Tadakane Tachibana sometime between 1177-1188. Finally, a few centuries later, at the start of the Kamakura period, ..."
The start of the Kamakura period was a few years, rather than centuries, after 1177-1188. Should "centuries" be changed, or "Kamakura"?

- It was early Kamakura period. I removed the centuries bit. Bendono 04:35, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for clearing that up. Fg2 04:40, 14 October 2006 (UTC)
The 2- or 3-volume edition?
[edit]Hi Bendono
I'm not an authority on the Iroha Jiruishō so I was following Bailey and Okimori. What's your source for making the "Tachibana Tadakane compiled the three volume edition" reversion? Best wishes. Keahapana 22:05, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
- Hello Keahapana. There is an entry for Iroha Jiruishō in 時代別国語大辞典:上代編 (1967), Sanseidō on page 874. Partial quote: "三巻本は、さらにその後、補訂を続けて、治承年間(一一七七~一一八八)に橘忠兼が撰述したもの。"
- By the way, excellent work on Wamyō Ruijushō, Ruijū Myōgishō, Shinsen Jikyō, Tenrei Banshō Meigi and others. It's really appreciated. Bendono 00:52, 12 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reference and the compliment. It's my pleasure to work on the Japanese dictionary articles. Best wishes. Keahapana 01:40, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
