On the highway passing through the village, a canopied statue of Sri G.Umakanth Bhagavatar greets the travellers. Umakanth was a great disciple of Harikatha Pitamaha (Father of Telugu Harikatha form)Srimath Ajjada Adibhatla Narayanadas of Viajayanagaram and propagated this literary form of Bhakti cult days in the coastal Andhra along with his son Srivenkateshwara Bhagavatar.
Temples in the village : Shivalayam, Ramulavari Gudi, Venugopala swamy gudi, Padmanabha swamy gudi, Bhavanarayana swamy gudi
[edit]The village has number of temples and every day you will find Bhajan programms. Oldest temples being Shivalayam near to Market/Panchayathi samiti building, in the main village Ramula vari gudi and adjacent Venugopala swamy gudi are the oldest. In Padmanabhuni peta, the freedom fighter and first Village Panchaathi President (grama sarpanch) Late Shri Ranganayakulu swamy has built Padmanabha swamy gudi in the sixties. Adjacent to Padmanabha swamy temple Shri Avvaru Bala krishna garu has built another temple of Shri Bhavanarushi swamy (Padmasali Kula Daivam) a decade ago. In addition to these temples Shirdi sai baba Gudi (built by chinna pandiri group) and Anjaneya swamy gudi (built by Pedda pandiri group - Late Vutla Ramakoti) are prominent. Gangamma sila Ankamma devatha temples of Ande vari Vamsavali and another Ankalamma temple of Budati vari vamsavali are also prominent. Ankamma or Ankalamma Devatha is the prominent Godess and historical temple of 11th century is seen at KAREMPUDI town near to the bus stand. The Veerla Ankalamma temple or simple Ankamma gudi has been constructed by Branmha Naidu during the period 1175AD as they had given up Macherla to Nayakuralu Nagamma faction in a COCK fight for 7 years. Ankamma Devara blessed the Veerulu during the Palnati Yuddam. The temple of Ankamma thalli in Karempudi was then renovated by Rani Rudrama Devi of Kakathiya dynasty in 1230AD who ruled the region from Orugallu or present day Warangal.
