Needs cites to RS

[edit]

Given the claims of misconduct by Moses while in and out of political office, the content really needs to be backed up by proper citations (including page numbers) to reliable sources. Ginsberg's recent biography is a major revision of interpretation of Moses, and needs to be incorporated in the assessment of him as politician and man.Parkwells (talk) 22:16, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Moses appears in Thomas Byrnes’s 1886 book “Professional Criminals of America”, in the bunco section. There is a short biography and picture later in the book.

It is odd that this secessionist should have been so attached to Republicans and Reconstruction. His ethical flexibility suggests that his work for freedmen was more going with the perceived flow, rather than any deep conviction. 2601:647:6680:4450:CD6B:C461:9EA5:DFE (talk) 06:02, 12 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of Corruption Info. - Revisionism

[edit]

Despite the obvious and acknowledged notoriety Gov. Moses had in his day there is almost no specific info outlining this in this article that is not presented with an apology and explanation at least four times as long, this is historical revisionism of the worst sort - If anybody knows can they add some more info. showing his contemporaries' views and evidence of corruption/nepotism? - He tripled his state's debt and spent enormous amounts on the public dime, why is that presented with an apology by the communist black nationalist W.E.B. Du Bois?

Just because elements of his opposition acted in murderous, racist or violent ways does not excuse Reconstruction looting, which is given very little weight or import in these wikipedia entries. Eli. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.242.30.23 (talk) 12:30, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
