Hi there, I work at Delta Air Lines and have been charged with helping improve Ed Bastian's Wikipedia page. I've disclosed my COI above, as well as on my user page. I will not be editing the article directly, but will propose suggested content inclusions since the page currently has zero content. @User:AKS.9955 since you created Ed's page, I was wondering if you'd be interested in helping with the edits so there is not a blank page in place? I've crafted suggested draft below for review, based on his official bio. Avgalatl (talk) 21:57, 27 November 2018 (UTC)Avgalatl[reply]

Hi again, I'm wondering if _INDEX_ template can be implemented to this article so when searching in Google, information from the Wikipedia page feeds into the Ed Bastian Google knowledge panel? Is this something that can be requested? Thanks! I've disclosed my COI above, as well as on my user page. Avgalatl (talk) 15:48, 17 December 2018 (UTC) Avgalatl[reply]

  1. Please know that all posts made on talk pages, including edit requests, are placed at the bottom of the talk page.
  2. In answer to your request, articles are only indexed after 90 days. Articles younger than that are not indexed, and the use of __INDEX__ will not work on them.

Some proposed changes

[edit]

Information to be removed: Bastian is married. His wife's name is Anna. Explanation of issue: Bastian is no longer married, although this is not cited in public articles. References supporting change: While this is not cited in public articles, I've disclosed my COI which should help validate this correction. Avgalatl (talk) 14:40, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  1. The fact that you've disclosed your COI here does nothing as a reference. The changes you've requested still require a source.
  2. However, in the spirit of the New Year — and despite the fact that Wikipedia is WP:NOTADATINGSERVICE — I've updated the subject to single status. I wish him luck with his endeavors.[a]

2/1/21 DL1887 JFK to St. Martin

[edit]

Dear Mr. Bastian, We arrived and waited in the First/Business class line for 30 minutes. I showed the agent our passports and all the medical covid required forms to enter St. Martin and told her that we were transiting to Anguilla that day. She refused to allow us to check in because she claimed that we needed St. Martin required insurance. I then asked her to get a supervisor and 20 minutes later both agents came to tell me that we could not fly that day because of lack of insurance. I was very, very upset after travelling to JFK from Hyde Park and fear of losing my boat charter and hotel fees. While at the agents desk, I looked up the St. Martin travel requirements and showed both agents that only visitors staying in St. Martin needed to provide insurance. They both then apologized, took our luggage and issued boarding passes. This was an excessively stressful way to start a vacation for a 73 year old.
