Kaliningrad Oblast

[edit]

Some think that Kaliningrad Oblast is part of the Northwestern Economic Region. Johnluisocasio (talk) 13:50, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unless this statement can be sourced (and "some" defined), I see no reason to include it.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); 15:51, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Raion - region or district

[edit]

1) Why raion is translated as region here? 2) Why not as district? Royaume du Maroc (talk) 04:06, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because "economic region" is the term that's used in English most often to refer to this concept. I don't recall ever seeing "economic raions" in literature, and "economic districts" in the context of Russia is usually used generically, and even when it's not, it's still a less common choice.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) • (yo?); May 11, 2012; 18:43 (UTC)
