Poor Quality of Data Masking page

[edit]

This page contains a large degree of inaccurate and outdated information, with sources that are many years old. This is a quickly evolving space and major updates to this page would beneficial to enhance the general knowledge of this test data management and data protection technique. For example, there is no mention of regulatory compliance or data masking's role in the post-quantum data security landscape in the article. I attempted to add context around the importance of data masking to regulatory compliance; however, my edit was reversed. Meanwhile, there is a lot of low quality content on this entry, such as poorly framed examples that are not aligned with Wikipedia's content standards. Please try again, but stick to sources that meet Wikipedia's WP:RS guideline, such as books from academic publishers or articles in peer-reviewed journals. Marketing materials, such as the websites of vendors in this area, are not useful. I am aware there are other such citations in the article that need to be removed or replaced, but we should not make that problem worse by adding more such sources.
